Jake and Elwood - brothers. Last two of a litter of 8 to be picked; sometimes you choose, sometimes you're chosen. Jake and Elwood were waiting for me. Seems like only a few months ago when I brought them home, but they'll be 4 in October.

I was thinking of famous duos and it took a while before Jake and Elwood came into my head, but when it did I knew that was the right name for them. They could have been Cheech and Chong....

It's been many years since we had a pet. But we do love them all. Wife thinks she has a pet black cat that lives on our back porch. She feeds it scraps but has only been able to pet it a few times.
Pinebox glad you got bored and added this thread. Like kids, it's fun looking at those that belong to someone else.
Also most of these animals here seem almost like members since they've been in wagon photos or talked about.
Probably better lookin and better behaved!

    Thanks.
I'll have to get a picture or two of the dogs in the back of the wagon one of these days and post it.
Especially since none of them have actually BEEN there so far.
They usually ride in the back seat of the truck...

Here they are discussing who's turn it is to chew the new bone, or something equally important :

Delilah - the Weiner dog - my wife bought her before we met.

Willy - the Beagle mix (supposedly with a Rottweiler) - my wife adopted him before we met.

Bear - the white Labradoodle - adopted him after his original owner passed away.

Chloe - the black Labradoodle who thinks she's a lap dog - she was being given away in front of a WalMart that we passed on our way to a car show. Just couldn't say no.

    Over the years...........
    Onyx-black cocker
    Scruffy- snoodle
Rusty- southern mutt-really dumb. Wife backed over him
Pudgy- pekinese- killed by a rottweiler while protecting my kids.
    Corky- corgi
    Duke- Springer spaniel
    Clarence- English pointer
    Nadal- Irish wolf hound
    Hunter- beagle
    Bubba- beagle
Matte- pronounced Mattie because of tangled fur when we rescued her. Australian shepherd.
    Buddy- full sized chihuahua
    Ferguson- Scottish terrier

All were rescue dogs except Duke whom a neighbor conned the wife into bringing hom as a cute puppy. We also had assorted gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, snakes, and turtles over the years.

As a kid, I seined tadpoles every spring from the crik and kept them in a washtub under the apricot tree. Somehow, they sprouted legs and disappeared every year. Maybe the crawdads got em.

My oldest daughter likes to think we are high class people with designer dogs called "Shickanese" but I have to be honest and tell you I don't have much class and my dogs are just Sheltie and pekingnese mix (excuse the spelling). They are a brother and sister named Peanut and Trixie. They were 7 or 8 months old when we rescued them and were already named. Trixie is half the size of Peanut but she is the alpha dog, poor Peanut take his a$$ chewings in stride.
We live at the end of a Dead End road with no neighbors so someone decided we needed a cat...she is named Lola (kids named her) She also had a kitten about 10 weeks ago...oh joy!(sarcasm) Kids named him Toby...he is sleeping in my lap as I type this! I call him FC and tell my kids it stands for Fast Cat...but not really :D Loaded him and his Momma up last week and had them fixed so thanks to the a$$ that dropped off the momma cat I am a little lighter in the wallet. I can say the cats truly found me I didn't find them but I don't mind they are pretty good.

Has anyone ever had a springer spaniel named Jerry? :rofl2:
The dog I had that was the coolest and closest friend ever in a dog was named Sparkplug. He was a miniature border collie mixed with I think was Jack Russell terrier. He was a saved dog. A family friend was on his way home from work and saw a pickup stop up by the next curve in the old dirt road they lived lived on. The guy got out of his truck and tossed burlap sack into the stream by the road. Curious as to what it was Eric stopped to look and found the sack full of puppies. All survived. Eric vowed to beat the living $4!# out of the guy that did it if he ever saw him again. Anyways I got first pick. They were all tan and short haired except for the runt. He was black with longer hair and was small enough to fit in one hand. He got his name because of two things. As a kid I had always wanted to name a dog Sparky but never had one ever that the name would fit. I found him in the front yard chewing on a spark plug that had been dropped after we had done some work on the Ford Aerostar that we had at the time. Finally I had a dog that I could finally name Sparky... But we always called him Sparkplug. He died protecting us. He was the kinda friend that always made you smile. And no matter how mad or angry you were he would always make you feel better.

Okay I like this thread and love the pics, I am an animal lover for sure. Here is my list:

Luna: 5 year old Chinese Crested (hairless dog).
Noot: 3 year old Chinese Crested, Jack Russell mix (complete spaz).
Tia: 5 year old Teacup Chuhuahua (doesn't bark and is scared of EVERYTHING).
Angus: 6 year old Orange Pursian cat (spends most of his free time looking for a portal to another universe).
Boo Boo: 3 year old gray Pursian cat (recently had to be shaved because of bad matting, now looks like a fuzzy monkey with a giant head and a pom pom at the end of his tail).
