It looks like there might have been a railroad depot at this location once upon a time.

 

We have camped well over 50+ years. I can tell you exactly how many times our family wore white shirts and ties camping.............

None! White is not campground friendly.
Altho I notice in the very old camping photos many people actually dressed up.

 

Cat - we have friends who go to gatherings with others of their faith, and they have a week camp out. For some of the functions they do dress up but mostly, just in normal camping gear. These events are typically week long, and some have full blown camping units but many are in tents.

The older Airstream events included dinners and outing where it was requested that the members wore their Sunday Best as they were considered to be representing the Country (USA), Airstream proper, and the Wally Byam group. Fortunately for all but a very few things those requests are no longer part of the camping equation.
