    Looks like an L.A. freeway - relatively new one at the time the pic was taken. Big crowd of people around the off-ramp......

    I'll go to the K.C.E.T. site (Public TV station in LA) and find out more......

    EDIT: It's the Santa Monica Freeway - one I've traveled many miles on....
    Before it was built, I remember visiting my aunt in Pomona (eastern edge of LA county - about 60 miles from home), and we had to travel surface streets all the way into downtown L.A. before we could pick up the San Bernardino freeway
