    I bought a generator for my uncle and they turned the power on the next day. We agreed that if that was all we had to do, then money well spent. The low hour generator sits in it original box. "}

    Well howdy there!
    I am working on the VERY same idea!
    Yes, yes, I am a Z-A nut but the effective performance requirements are the same.
    It seems to me that a big wagon from the 70's to the 80's mounted on a shortbed truck frame.
    This is a vehicle not made for comfort but to save your butt. SO the interior needs to be VASTLY redone. IE: Rip it out. You are going to need the space in all of the open empty places inside the body.
    In the end mobility will save your life. Having a well fortified home is a great thing as long as it is not subject to a siege. The battle of Masada and Tyre should prove that.
    You dont need gobs of power but durability beyond question.
    You need to be able to carry enough fuel, water, food, supplies, 'anti-mayhem' deterrence to get you from one safe place another or survive outside.
    Let us delve together upon this idea!
    More to come!

    If it ever came down to my family needing to leave in a capable vehicle that could carry a large amount of stuff the wagon would stay and my Powerstroke diesel F-350 crew cab 4X4 would be what we would take. That being said, I don't ever plan on having to make that decision.

    One thing to be very careful about when hooking a generator or any other source of auxiliary power: You MUST have an isolation switch that is engaged prior to connecting the back up. Otherwise you can electrocute line workers doing repairs. It is in the Electrical Code just about everywhere.

    Plant plenty of shrubs on the roof, so that the drone gamers can't see you bugging

    He is saying to camoflauge your wagon so when you are "bugging", on the move, government drones won't see you. However, if they have infared they will.

    I'm single, I'm not prepared for anything. If something does happen, I'll head to my uncle's place about a half hour a way. He's got a small farm and plenty of equipment and supplies to farm his property, generator and a good network of local farmers including cattle and pig farmers. However, in my opinion the best bug out vehicle would be one that needs minimal fuel. You aren't protected from the elements or aggressors, but you can travel quietly at night on one of these.

    Something with no electronic ignition or computer.
    And a fully stocked gun rack!

    Plus an 8-track with various classic rock tapes are just frosting of course.
