Wow, that is about half what I though it would cost. GREAT investment.

So, you must be out cruising this weekend with it..............

    Thanks for the comments folks.

I've given very serious thought to pulling the L33 out of my 05 Silverado, dropping a stock 5.3 in, selling the truck and getting a newer one, and using the L33 (all aluminum 5.3 - higher perf designed for towing) in the wagon. My family CEO is not quite in agreement with that option given she loves the truck and we do use it a lot for towing the trailer in the fall/winter/wetter part of spring. She's not too hepped about getting another truck, and she's worried that given some health issues, doing the various engine swaps is more than I can handle. She might be right, the last few weeks working on various things has me so tuckered out I need to get away from my garage to get a rest. If I'm here, I can't help myself, I have to go out and once there things sort of get going and, well, you all know what I mean. We'll see. I was working on a bike rack today for the trailer so I don't have to load them in the back of the truck which means when we use the Safari we can now have our bikes along, and while puddling around the engine thing was mashing through my head.

I keep looking at the 455, the F.I. option seems the way to go if I travel that route, but we'll see.

Couple pics of the bike rack - in these pics it's not finished, not painted, bikes not balanced on the rack yet, but this is it and it is done now, just letting the paint dry. Easy and quick load and unload, can open the tailgate of the truck and the Safari, very secure. Distraction from doing the wagon while I think things through and it needed to be built. Fun project, but man, I'm taking the weekend off and relaxing.

today i turned the wagon around in the driveway. even better i didn't see any smoke out the tailpipe. almost seems that the more i run it the better it starts to run. looking good to be able to drive it on the street soon. oh and i looked at my non existent headliner.

    Time to Start Rolling Again

Well....it has been several months since last post...my mom unexpectedly died last October from a massive stroke...So we have been busy taking care of her Estate stuff...She didnt have any insurance or any cash, we had been helping supporther the last few years. So we have been selling off some of our other toys to cover expenses. Still waiting for our 1935 Ford fully restored resto mod to sell .Seems like a bad time of the year for people to have 30k laying around..so not having much luck...everyone wants to trade for it...But ..once it sells we can get ack on track with our 71 Chevelle wagon project...The daydreams are finally coming back of what I want to do ...lol....hope everyone is happy and healthy ))

So sorry to hear about your mom, Westy. We only ever have one mom and they are a tough loss for sure. I hope everything works out for you during this unfortunate time. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

We are still street legal (when we put the exhaust back on) but are working on getting down into the 10.xx range. On this day we ran a 7.11 1/8 mile and have run a 7.04/99.2 on another day. Right now it is down for trans work but will be back to the track as soon as we are back together.

Would you consider giving me a couple of car lengths and run a 10.5 rear tire?
