I've always had at least one convertible in my stable, but I've never seen anyone try to put a roof rack on one, like the Buick convertible in the foreground has (the black 60 Ford with the roof rack might also be a convertible).
But then, its that big Dodge Power Wagon truck?/bus? that I kind of like in this photo...along with the 60 Ford wagon that is.

Back then, they made racks specifically for convertibles to carry your skis... I had one on my 1964 Chevy convertible, but it was a pain to take off and on when you wanted to drop the top. I used mine for water skies....

Hey... I think I was there about that time. Of course I was only five or six years old... but I remember days like that.

Must be Timberline Lodge up on Mt. Hood.

I see you there Jairus in the blue jacket on the right up on the snow bank. Right next to the little girl in the white jacket.
First two people on the hill toward the edge of the photo. You were a cute kid back then. What happened?:rofl2:

Hey Orth, I agree - it is one of those pictures that you can almost see yourself being a part of. I like these kinds of photos with so much activity of all kinds going on. It makes the picture come alive.

I still remember Mom having a thermos of coco ready once we were freezing cold. Not to mention the long drive home with mine and my brothers wet pants draped over the transmission hump under the heater vent while we had to sit ignominiously in the back seat in just our undershorts.
Won't be forgetting that anytime soon...
The car was a 1958 Ford Ranch wagon, soon to be replaced with a '64 Rambler wagon. (baby blue)

I beleive this shot was taken at the old Detriot Metro Airport Terminal shortly after it was completed in the early 60's.

Completed in the early 60's? Looks old already. I would have thought maybe a mid 50's designed building.

Here's another example of a convertible "roof" rack- It took me a while to see it, too, but it's there...:bouncy:

How times have changed. I counted one row of cars parked in this lot and then counted the rows. I guestimate there are somewhere between 550 and 600 cars in this photo.

    I see one Suburban.

No pick up trucks, no minivans. All cars.
