Thanks Rev - we really enjoyed the visit, and Stove's little girl is such a sweetheart. And the warmth that came over him as he spoke about her is that family "thing" the permeates the station wagon group as a whole.

As I sit and sip my Earl Grey Tea, I'm thinking about the rest of the day in the shop playing with the wagon, feeling pumped and motivated by this kick start to the day.

Dennis, there was a time when a cold beer washing down my breakfast of eggs and fried potato's and toast was one of the better ways to start my day. Good for you for staying around this early to participate. You are a keener .

Uh, just thinking - I hope the word keener is as polite a word in other parts of the world as it is here

Here's to all the station wagon family! People that are real with real and honest values. We save station wagons and by doing so we save along with them that part of history that also treasured family values and all those values that went with them. I'm proud to be accepted as a member of this family of people that respect the station wagon and respect one another. Thanks for showing me that quality people do still exist.

:lolup:Well, I use the term keener to acknowledge that someone is interested, enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile to overachieve.

Its all good - but one just never knows from one culture to another if that could also be perceived differently.

    Cheers to wagon lovers everywhere!

    My toast:

    "A toast to your coffin.
May it be made of 100 year old oak.
And may we plant the tree together, tomorrow."

Geez Tedy, you need an Airstream. If it rains you just either sit under the awning with your preferred drink and enjoy the fresh air, and for the few times on the wet coast that it isn't raining you can enjoy that bright round orange thing in the sky we so seldom see this time of year. Meanwhile, the wife and puppy are nicely parked inside the trailer staying warm and pretending they are at home. The insulation in the walls keeps them warm and also works as a sound deaden-er so all you hear is this muffled sound. Makes the beer that much nicer to enjoy and appreciate and depending on the pitch of the muffled sound it can be quite pleasant.:pub:

Keener?------- Things like this just show what a mixture of people we are. We write, speak, and sometimes act differently. But deep down have the same feelings where we can laugh, cry, and share anything among our station wagon family.
It is ironic that a nearly abandoned type vehicle has brought together family oriented honest people here in one forum.

By the way, what the heck does keener mean ya'all? As I was typing Saf57 was answering. So it more or less mean keen, as in fairly bright.

I forgot to mention my drink for the toast was/is unsweetened iced tea of a brand only my wife knows.

    See post #25

You fit the bill as well. Actually, so far everyone who has managed to get on this morning would fit the description.

As an added bit of info - in my business life a keener was the person you wanted on your project team because you knew that with them involved no matter what, the project would be done on time, on budget, and done right.
