Stopped at a red light and the kid wasn't paying attention and BOOM! I'm ok although I'm sure my neck will hurt tomorrow as my head snapped back pretty hard. Good thing is he has insurance (Gieco). Five minutes after I got home from the scene Geico was already calling me and has accepted liability and already assigned an adjuster. The hard part is going to be finding parts. I definatly need a tailgate which is 69 Monaco only. My biggest fear is they will total it due to lack of parts and try to give me $500 for it. Not gonna happen though as I have been dealing with insurance companies for years doing paint and bodywork. Here's pictures of the carnage.

Sorry about the accident and the pain. After your physical pain comes the pain in the A*^# finding parts and having it repaired properly.
I guess that's the price we pay for driving such small inconspicuous vehicles like barges. Don't suppose a cell phone had anything to do with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of these recent wagon mishaps has me scared to drive ours. I've seen Floridians on the roads.

I'm really sorry to hear about that. A tailgate will be hard to find. You'll likely need to do alot of the searching yourself. Maybe Wildcat Auto Wrecking in Oregon http://www.wildcatmopars.com/, or Stephen's Performance in Alabama http://www.stephensperformance.com/contact.html , or Freman's in Montana http://www.wildcatmopars.com/
Wildcat and Stephan's Performance are Mopar only yards.

You never know what you'll find on Craigslist. This guy is trying to sell 20 cars as a single lot which I'm sure will never happen. Maybe he'll sell his 69 Monaco wagon separately. (He wants to sell them all because someone stole the radiators out of all 20 cars). http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3408175361.html

What makes the tailgate a 69 Monaco only part besides the trim?
The 70 looks like it would be the same, including the openings for the tail lights.

This tail light on E-bay says it fits 69-71 Monaco/Polara wagon.

I did some checking and it turns out 69-71 Monaco/Pplara tailgates will work. Still won't be easy to find but between the three years I should be able to find something.

I would not be surprised if the tailgate from a 69-71 Fury would work. The Fury also has tail lights that extend onto the tailgate. The designers may well have used the same stamping with different tail light housings designed to go into the same hole.

Sorry to hear. According to www.car-part.com Buds Salvage in Oklahoma has a tailgate for a 69, but sometimes that info isn't updated.

AZ, sorry to hear about your event today. You need to go get your neck and back looked at. This stuff has a habit of coming back to haunt you later on so having it checked now would help to ensure that there is a medical record on hand.

Very happy you were in your wagon and not something less able to take a hit of that nature, but sad to see the results on the wagon.

Sorry about your misfortune. I know you know better than to sign any releases or accept any total claim payout until some time has passed and you know there are no lingering injuries that may pop up later.

Rear ended by a "kid." Was there a cell phone involved? It's my belief "distracted driving" has become a national epidemic.
