We build and collect, love and care for old cars in this forum. That's why I hang around. I don't like or care to look at the destruction of a vehicle either by accident or by wanton disregard. Especially stationwagons.
The brick in the washing machine "You-Tube thread" comes to mind.

I guess while posters here continue posting wrecks of vehicles, some of which persons died in, I think I shall take my leave for a time.

Oh and one other thing... I survived one rather bad accident many years ago which kind of left me with some scars so there is a mental aspect too.

Carry on, I'll check back after Christmas.
    Merry Christmas all!

Jairus, I think the pics were posted for the sake of the history involved and yes I agree there were some graphic and somewhat disturbing pics posted, but I don't think anyone meant offense. You have every right to post your feelings or comments on any particular subject, that's the point of a forum to begin with. Do what you feel you have to my friend but please come back to us after a break. I appreciate your imput and massive amount of talent you bring here. You are part of our family. God bless.

I understand both sides of this issue. Some of those photos are disturbing but, after all, are "Wagons in vintage Street scenes".
My wife was in a very bad head on collision when very young while riding in a 1950 Chevy pick up truck. It still bothers her and that is why she won't drive. Yet she rides in old trucks like my 1948 Chevy panel truck which looks the same from the front seat.
People react differently to these things. And these are but a few of accidents posted in this thread in the past.
Take a break Jairus but please return. You add much to this forum.

Most of these accident pictures are no different from what we see in the salvage yard when we go looking for parts. I did notice in one recent photo, however, that there was a blanket or tarp covering what one could assume were dead bodies. That bothers me as well. But it does serve as a reminder to us all to drive responsibly.

Perhaps when a picture is being posted that is not going to make every one happy the Title could include an XXX and then they know to skim over those? I have no clue how many people are sensitive to these types of pictures but this would be an easy way for them to pass those particular pictures up and not feel they need to take a break from forums participation.

    Just saying.........

And Jairus - you have yourself a tremendous holiday break. We expect you back after Christmas. :christmas::biggringift: You'd hate to disappoint so many friends wouldn't you? :naughty:

    Caution Accident Ahead

    Saf57 XXX ???
I probably wouldn't consider looking at anything marked XXX. But a few guys here would fall off their computer chairs clicking the thread! Then imagine the disappointment when they find wrecked station wagons !

Fat Tedy I'll take that bridge and give the original asking price if you'll deliver it and install it across the Suwannee River not far from my house.

As for this latest killing spree it will continue for awhile. Sadly it is playing right into the hands of the anti-gun nuts. So far most times we've found out that the nut cases involved should have had no access to any kinds of weapons.

By the way, on another forum with a vintage thread I just saw accidents also. It's part of the car scene.

Walpole’s Sunny Rock Farm. Owners George and John Buttimer stood with an unidentified youth near the farm’s well-known station wagon in the 1950s.

1957 Lionel sitting on his GPA after the first round of modifications.

In 1967 Lionel took "The Amphib" travelling. His intention was to write a book about his travels, but unfortunately he never did. He did take "The Amphib" from the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area and travelled down through the United States. He photographed "The Amphib" in front of the Alamo in Texas (famous last stand of Davey Crockett, Colonel Sam Houston and Jim Bowie). Lionel took "the Amphib" to every country in Central America, and even into Columbia.
