warm and fuzzy as an old dishrag

Hey I was a truck driver, and like most of our dish rags, I'm warm and fuzzy!;)
    Very good advice MercWoody.

Krash: Contact the seller, and double check that a pre-pick up inspection was performed, and if possible, have him fax his copy to you. To protect himself, the driver should have performed the inspection, as I'm sure you already know. One good thing about owner/operators is that they are trying to make a living for themselves, so they try to make sure that the cargo is delivered without damage. Here's hoping that the car gets delivered tomorrow as you hoped, and that it is all in order. By the way, Mercwoody had great advice. Have your cell phone on you, and be sure to have an independent witness on the scene before the car is off loaded.

Way ahead of you on that, Mike. Got a copy of the inspection report e-mailed to me from the seller right after it left. Unfortunately, it appears it was scribbled out in about 30 seconds. Does have an 'out' for the trucking company, in that it was at night, and raining (or maybe snow) when it was picked up. So no real thorough inspection was done. If it turns into a problem (which I don't think it will), I've got Silverfox's inspection of it to back me up.

I expect the wagon will arrive very dirty, so I'm probably not going to be able to see any issues on the body (if there are any) when I take possession. I'll make a point to discuss that issue with the driver.

    Just spoke with the driver...
I'll be meeting the truck sometime tomorrow evening in Portland. Says he's sending another driver down to Portland for him, as he's got another trip to make back to Chicago.

I'll have to wait for a call from the actual driver tomorrow.....

My daughter and I will have to make the trip north. Wife doesn't drive so well in the dark.

I've been antsy for two weeks.
Good suggestion on the flashlight, Tedy. Gonna get that done right away.

The waiting really is the hardest part.
How many years has your wagon wait been???

I've had cars shipped to me more than a few times and all this sounds par for the course.
The damage I've seen most often is from them chaining the car down too tight to the trailer and it bends and/or rips the steel around the holes where they attach the hooks to the frame.
Check good around the control arm braces and things like that where they may erroneously hook on to it and do damage too.

    Good luck!

Well....after all this....now he is sending a different driver. So...IF, heaven forbid, there is any damage done to the car, this new driver just says....I don't know anything about it, another guy drove it here. Yeah....look it over REAL good, KK. If you have any questions about anything just let me know...I saw the car and looked it over before it left Wisconsin.

And now this morning, on top of it all, we have 2" of snow on the ground......and it's still falling.
