Well I walked down to my wagon today and opened the hood, looked at the mess, closed it and walked away. :(

I want to get it like this again and in RUNNING and driveable conditions...

Installed my $40 plastic dash pad cover. Beat $40 I ever spent. Its a cheap repair for now bu looks pretty good.

This is the only part that kinda sucks. On the right and left side along the instrument panel it does not cover the pad. I could paint it black to match the cover but I am hoping to find a good dash pad eventually. And, these covers are normally $140 but I found this one used from a demolition derby guy stripping a car

I don't think the color difference there will be a big deal. Almost looks like some sort of color scheme they would have tried to work back in the day.

I have rebuilt my carb today, seems to run a little better, I will need to make some more minor adjustments. I replaced many old and cracked vacuum lines also. Still need to rebuild the front end and replace the rear end bushings, all springs and shocks also.

    Successfully installed new U-joints.
150K is pushing it for for the originals so I figured now would be a good time.

New set of Bilsteins 2 weeks ago. KYB GR-2s weren't cutting it.

Well the wagon has been neglected, but I bought a 74 Caprice, bought a nice set of chrome SS wheels for it and then last night came across a 1964 Dodge Dart Convertible for a steal of a deal so I bought it. I am out of garage space, now I have to see if the wifeee will let me build a new garage. Better pictures of the Caprice and new pictures of the dart convertible coming soon

Finally found a Century the same color as my wagon to obtain a decent bumper. It was a four door at the local yard. The rub strip was body colored so I masked and sprayed it in semi-gloss black as per original on mine to approximate the rubber on the remainder of my car (after it's treated with protectant). There's a bit of a gap between the top of the bumper and grille/headlight panel that I couldn't fix, but it still is better overall than with the damaged original.

I will be doing brakes/shocks/springs (rear) on the dk cherry 96. My son 2/12 months has managed to break the turn signal cam and both passenger side window regulators (windows fall into door if cracked open). So he is going to get a lesson in fix the buick 101 or he don't drive it anymore!!! I gave him the car and he beats on it. My daughter drove the car for three years with no issues. He has put 5600 miles on it in 2 1/2 mo (where does that boy go?) so we will "talk" while fixing up the rodie this weekend! :)

My guess Mike is that the bumper absorber or mounting bracket on that side got bent slightly upwards from the collision. That's why your filler on the left side isn't fitting flush.

    Nice work overall though!

I welded in my first patch panel today. Not just the first one for the wagon, but the first one for me. I think this was the one automotive task that has intimidated me the most.

I put a post with pictures on my build thread. It's quite lengthy with large pictures so I won't put it here. I'll just list the link if anyone's interested:
