i have officially lost interest in her. I dont have a budget to work with so its frustrating that mods only happen around christmas and my birthday (jenn wont let me spend any of our money from our joint account on the car) so i give up. The car is super clean...ask anyone whom has seen her in person.
so what will come? i dont know... perhaps a caddy fleetwood like CE's or a jeep.. or a 60's ford truck or maybe a ford wagon, all opportunities on the horizon. the fleetwood wont fit in the garage but i have other places to stick a 225in long car.
there is a slight possibility of me ending up with my grandma's-cousin's ..owned since new...1975 oldsmobile 98 regency coupe with 40k miles..
so here is the add ...and dont worry ..i'll still be here!

    I'm somewhat tempted by this.......

I've never been 'Gaa Gaa' over the '91-'96 B-bodies. Part of my reluctance has maybe been the fact that I've never even sat in one, let alone driven one.......

Ask me how much I miss my 96 woody Roady....and how much I regret selling it.

My new Custom Cruiser is really nice, but you just can't beat that LT1.

If you'd done this a month ago I'd have been headed to PA instead of NC.

I really hope you reconsider selling it, and if not, that it goes to a fellow wagon-clubber.

    -Mike

I have put my heart and soul into this wagon... so i'll be damned if i let her go to the first schlub off the street that comes along and throws down cash.

Even though I am a Ford guy, I love these wagons. With, however, one proviso. When The general restyled the B bodies, somehow, they lost about 3 inches of front leg room. I don't know what the specs are, but in practical terms, there is at least 3 inches less legroom than the boxes. The difference is enough that 30 minutes in the newer style, and I can feel my knees, and all day in the boxes, or the Ford/Mercury twins, and my knees are just fine. Mind you, my jeans do have a 34 inch inseam, so I'm not exactly short of leg.

That said, I understand losing interest. That is really too bad, since you obviously love the car. I only hope that seller's remorse doesn't hit the moment Tiki leaves the driveway.

That's a really good deal for a clean LT1 RMW with that mileage.
If it was a year ago I would of jumped on it too.

I have a 36 inch inseam and for me there's plenty of luxuriously appointed interior legroom in my OCC.

What I do to keep the wife happy is put some of each paycheck into a separate account. $75 a pay period doesn't seem like much, but it adds up. She's happy, and so am I, because once I get enough for something i want it doesn't come out of "bill" money.

    Just a thought..

My wife is a accountant. You bet I have to "show her the numbers" before I spend on my rides. But like Toboj17 I have put a side a "car fund". If the cars needed something a set amount of money that we could afford would be taken from my check and put in a separate bank account unitl the goal was reached. Since we have started that program the cars have never been an issue. (been doing this for 25 years)

I spoke to Ian this evening.

I've been contemplating the Tikiwagon ever since Ian put the ad up. Going back and forth in my mind. I have no hesitation about the wagons' condition - it's obviously beautiful and well-cared for, with lots of additions that I like as well.

    My hesitation stems from
    1) Being unfamiliar with these B-bodies, and
    2) The extra expense (and time) of going to PA. to get it.

    I checked shipping costs - around $1,200.
I checked the cost of going to get it myself - fly there, drive home. Also probably around $1,000 or more.

Ian - I am sorry I strung you out for a few days........
