So here I am, stuck at home on a very rainy and snowy day. Actually, it's the first snow of the season, I live at the 7,200ft level. So After a day of lying around the house working on a painting and reading, I decided to take a drive to get some new windshield wiper blades. This is where the fun part comes in. You see, I live on a dirt road. Add that to a full day of rain/snow, stir in a pinch of four wheel drive, and you got yerself a good ol' time. At least until cleaning time comes around. I actually took Erma out the other day and got her a bit muddy then, but today it got even worse. I imagine that all this extra weight is killing my gas mileage. Have the Best Day.....

A naturally textured finish! Low cost too!

Well Erma handles it well. Has it got that pebbled finish on the bottoms of the sides? I did that to mine, because Canadian Fairmonts came stock with it. My Mexican-built wagon didn't have it. Pro-Form's stuff worked fine.

It looks like where my Fairmont was rescued from!
She must've had 30lbs of North Dakota farmyard stuck up under the bumpers and body.
We had to wash it all down before importing at the border.
    :sweep:
I'm still pulling bits of hay out from here and there.

Wow, that is good for that. Good thing they haven't heard they could get a $500 tax receipt. Good luck Andy.

Yeah, the Kidney Foundation gives out charitable tax receipts for $500 for clunkers and junkers. They use the money to help with the operation costs for transplants. We just put against our income tax reports and it reduces your taxable income. If you're low income, most of what you paid is given back. If you're earning over $26,000 (poverty line), you'd get maybe $100 off your taxes for a clunker. If you're earning $60,000, you'd get the full amount.

Most of the tax credits are aimed at families with $100,000 family income (hubby and wife). The rest support the MP salaries. A single person with a $60,000 or more income gets the SHAFT. Almost a third in taxes. Over $110,000, he'd pay 50% in taxes or look for tax-deductible shelters like CD, RRSP, RIFFS, GICs.

Ah but he'd get a quarterly refund of some of the Provincial and Federal sales tax back, maybe $1,200 per year. No vaseline though.

You send your kids to graduate, make a good living, and become a cashcow for an inept government? NOT! Kidney transplant cost assistance at least helps folks where it counts. Plus, they maintain the donor resources. So far, we don't have a black-market for organs, so this works.

    Andy, I have three words:

    GRAB THAT EAGLE!!!!!!

If it runs, it's totally worth it. I love mine, it gets good mpg, and is easy to work on. It's reliable, and mechanical parts are easy to get. With the four wheel drive I never get stuck, and we do get a lot of snow here in the mountains where I live. The roads are all dirt and turn to pea soup when it rains. Get the car, keep in mind that it IS and AMC product, which takes a sense of humor, humility, and patience to own. You will not be disappointed. And if you are, sell the car to me:)

P.S. Stormin', No it doesn't have the pebble finish on it. When I get the car to the point where I am ready to paint it, I am thinking that the lower body portions, as well as the wheel flares will be done with a textured spray-on bed liner, like RhinoCoat. When I re-paint the car I want to do it in a tangerine color with black accents. I figure that the Tangerine will go well with the Tan interior.

So I wrote to the guy right away, and he said someone asked him to hold it for him for a couple of days for a $20 deposit! The guy had to get the cash together, presumably,
I asked if I could see it anyways, and perhaps make a higher offer.
Never heard back, so I wrote again, and he finally replied that it was sold.
    :cussing:Can you believe that! A $20 deposit.
