Does anyone know of a good pet gate for a RM? I'd like to set my dog up with a little area of his own behind back seat - cargo area. He's coming with us on a road trip in a couple of weeks. Thanks
The local Petland store has them here. The only problem is that they have uprights that compress between the headliner and load floor to hold the barrier in place and I know I wouldn't want anything smushing my headliner. You may be better off using a kennel carrier or steel wire cage if you want the dog to be as safe as possible in case anything happens and to protect the interior of the car from doggie damage.
That is the problem with them, looked for one myself way back and this was the reason I never bout one.
I agree - don't want to smush my headliner I almost bought one of those barriers at Petco, but I'm sure glad I didn't. My headliner is perfect and I want to keep it that way. I think I'll go with the wire kennel idea - completely contained in the cargo area and no smushing of headliner. This car has been too well taken care of for 18 years to let my pug or a crappy barrier ruin it now. Thanks again.
Although I, myself am totally agaist putting a furry family member in a cage perioud....at least get one (and don't cheap out) that is the proper size and quality.......
I like that idea and we don't have a dog. Ya think a wife would fit in one of those with room for a water dish?
I've got one of those old looking modern stereo radios in the wagon. I only have four speakers. It would never quiet her whining down! It's bad enough when I let her ride up in the front seat. Guess I could do like our son does with his Macaw......Throw a blanket over the cage when he wants it to stop squawking!
tedy, i dunno about dogs the size of yours. but my shih tzu has to be caged when we aren't at home. she is very destructive... and not very bright! no to mention has issues with going potty in the house when no one is home. the other one...chooch....she eats my daughters toys. but if we are just going somewhere in town or are home i keep them out of the cage.
Chooch sounds like ol Bart, First day we left him home alone we puppyized the house..... but Deb forgot all about her stuffed animal collection on the bed's head board.....Oh the horror....... ......good boy Bart, I hated them things
There are plenty of huge gate and wide dog gates available at online shoppes. Why don't You go for online shopping. Although putting pets into gates is not good thing but for sometime due to valid reason, its okay. Finding Bigfoot
