Hey all! What a great forum. Just got meself a 1989 Buick Electra Estate Wagon!

Love it. Touch-screen climate (although the blower module is gone, need to replace... $240!)
    All window motors work
    Rear seat row
    Comfiest seats in the world
Olds 307 (obviously) But the secondary airplate seems to be stuck. Sucking gas like crazy and wheezes at WOT.
    No rust, was undercoated

    87k km
All for $750. What a deal! Trying to find a 350 Rocket for it, the 307 is so slow :(

Welcome to the squirrels' cage. We may be nuts, but that's ok. Great wagon, and a great buy! Having lived with a 307, years ago, I agree. You need the 350 Rocket. The good news is there are PLENTY of them out there. You may also find you need to beef up the transmission, because that 200R4 is not going to be able to handle the torque of the 350 in stock form. My experience was that it was marginal behind a 307. Good luck with the wagon, and keep posting what you are up to.

Just had a thought, here. Since you have a Buick, why not keep her all Buick and drop in the Buick 350. It is not quite as powerful as the Olds Rocket, but it does have more torque, and is an absolute SWEETHEART of an engine for drivability and fuel economy.

    Welcome brishay.:)
Where's Port Hardy?, I could look it up in a minute but I'm too lazy.

Why mess around with a 350?, an Olds 455 would be way more fun.:)
I have a supposedly rebuilt BOP THM 400 sitting in my shed, free if you want to come and get it, but I have a feeling Port Hardy isn't real close to Cleveland, Ohio.;)

I'm very not close to Ohio! British Columbia! And it seems a bit hard to find 350 rockets around here, I DO have a lead on a 403. I want something that'll be direct bolt in -- don't want to fiddle with fab at this point. The only other issue is the blower module is gone. That's a $240 part -- I may just wire in a toggle switch for the blower.

The mounts are set up for the Olds 307/350/403/455 and not the Buick motor. I have no way to fab, unfortunately :(

As soon as I can afford to, it's the 84 listed on Kijiji. Don't go stealing it from under me now :p It's a sedan, but it might be my drag-build while the Buick remains my DD
