That tornado scared the you-know-what out of me. I'd never actually seen one in person and I looked out the window and it was RIGHT THERE. Amazed I got the funnel in that pic, it was pouring and I was yelling GO GO GO! to my Dad. :rofl2:

Other than that, it was a great trip. Glad you like the story!

    Great pics, Mike!
Car looks like it's everything you hoped it would be, with very few surprises.

Now that Ram's gotta go; it doesn't match the required color scheme.

Congratulations!, glad all went well, looks like you had a fun adventure.:)
Now I'm hungry and want to go work on my OCC.:D
Is that a bammed Bambi on the side of the road entering Alabama?:(
The car looks really good, it sits just right, must be the low mileage because normally they're front low and butt high.
I'm envious of the factory floor mats, I do have a cargo cover in mine though. That should be a '91-'93 "TBI blue" cover.

Cool key fob, cars really do find people, the fob said "Joey's Tavern" on it when I got mine.:(
Did the guy have the keyless entry fob/remote?
My cruise did the same thing, it was the CHMSL/cruise control switch not being adjusted right. I found the problem on the freeway by holding the brake pedal up with the top of my foot going over the same bumps that deactivated the cruise and it didn't do it anymore, adjusted the switch tighter to the pedal and it's fine now.

Ram IS gone...sort of. I sold the S-10 my Dad was driving to fund the new wagon, and gave the Ram to him. He's happy and I'm happy!

Thanks for the tips! I'll be on the lookout for a cargo cover in the salvage yards. Good to know what to look for. Also want a center front seat armrest with the storage in it. Will look in the Roadies for that.

The seller had no idea that these cars even came with keyless entry, but it's on the options list, so my car has the box, and I just need some keychain fobs. They're all over Ebay but some folks on the Longroof forum may send me some to try.

So it's the brake switch on the pedal that's causing the cruise issue? Do you just twist that down? Will crawl under there this weekend....happily a cool front is on the way. Want to fix that and sort out the front speakers, and then go get the car scanned for the check engine light.

I'll get it there soon. Love the car, will sort out the small stuff.

    -Mike

Hope you're as lucky as I was on the Check Engine light.

On my Bonneville, it was just a bad temp sensor (the one for the computer).
    Cheap, easy fix.

Mike, thanks for takin us on the road trip. Great ride, except for the minor rain showers. Been in most of those places except that little state of Texas. Glad the new toy is another great one.
Your dad is cool. Dad needs a wagon of his own so he can write his own small books. Now I'm hungry.:)

Those are the sort of adventures I had in 2000-2004 before I got married. Buy something sight unseen on eBay or AutoTrader or whatever, hop on a bus or a plane, go halfway across the country, and bring it back to Texas. I did that with 3 Buick Centurys, a Chevy Celebrity, a Toyota Tercel, and a Ford Tempo during that time. I think I've told the Tercel story on here before...it was BAD...

Sadly, one of my favorite stops on that midwest-to-Texas route is no more, a cheap little place called the Brinkley Inn on the south end of Brinkley, Arkansas. There's no motel carpet like blood red motel carpet, don'cha know. $25 including tax for a single, $30 including tax for a double. Beds were like sleeping on a picnic table. TV got 2 channels, one of them you can't see, one of them you can't hear. And you get your $3 key deposit back in the morning when you return the key, AND AH DONT GIT UP BEFOAR SEVEN, YA HEAR?

I'm glad you guys had a good trip and I can't wait to see this OCC come together under your watch, it's starting right, it can only get better!

Think about it, if Mike had that wagon trailered home by some strangers he and dad would have missed this great experience and adventure. Keep this in mind, guys and gals, next time you debate how you will get your next toy home.

Try as I may, I have not figured how to add multiple or large pictures. Mike's are always great. Not too big and interesting.
