    :rofl2:.... I go to a gas station thats real close and it's cheaper to buy 2 pacs rather than one..... I walk in and a guy, no sh** about 6' 8" is having a "chat" so to say about buying 10 pacs......

    Store....
    So you want to buy a carton?

    Customer....
    NO, ring it up as a single pac 10 times.....

    Store....
    I'll ring it up as a carton....

    Customer....
    NO!

    Store....
    Yes! I'm not ringing up 10 pacs seperate!

    Customer....
    How much for a carton?..and..How much for a single pac?

    Store....
    ( I can't remember the cost) $X for a carton, $X for a pac....

    Customer....
    Got a calculator back there? Ad up the price per pac times 10 and tell me how much it will cost?

    Well blow my mind as it turned out to be $2 cheaper to buy by the pac....?!?

    Store would not sell the guy 10 pacs, but only a carton.

    Customer says....
    Fine, I'll take 9 pacs please and is being very polite.

    Store guy like a lite switch becomes clearly bent out of shape by this but does the sale.

    Customer gets his change.....and then asks for 1 pac of smokes, again very polite

    Me = :rofl2:out loud

    Store guy who is a tiny little fellow just about bursts a vain but does the sale, but his attitude is full blown crap now...

    The Customer, clearly almost 7 feet tall, turns and looks at me...well he looked down at me like I was a child hight and I'm 5' 11'' says.....

    What did I do wrong here?

    So now it's my turn.... I know that in this gas station It's 35 cents cheaper to buy 2 pacs rather than one, and I told the big man this.... oops:rofl2:

    I got my smokes and got the hell out of there as afst as I could, now the polite BIG man was bent, and the store guy was really bent.... David vs Golioth IMO.

    But you had to be there, the store guy was a rude jerk..... I just happened to be the guy with the fire for the fuil

    :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

    I started typing that things have changed in recent years. Now it may be cheaper to buy singles rather than a case or multiple items. I guess it's the new way to screw the customers into thinking we are getting a good buy.

    But a funny thing happened on the way to typing this. A drop down asked me to subscribe to this thread. I don't need constant updates or reminders. I just like to randomly comment. Is this something new?

    We took a nice long vacation in the Suburban, 5 weeks, 4300 miles, and the cheapest cigarettes we found were in South Carolina and Missouri. So before leaving Missouri we hit up a liquor store/tobacco shop in the Joplin area across from a big truck stop. We pay $4.30 a pack for Winstons for me here at home, they were like $29.50 a carton. We pay $3.60 or so per pack of L&Ms for my wife at home, they were like $26 or $27 a carton. So we got 5 cartons each of those. I think the limit is ten cartons per person to cross state lines? I'm not sure. But I also grabbed a carton of Marlboro 25s because I can't find those in Texas anywhere. You still get the same 200 cigarettes, just in eight 25 count packs. Those are more convenient to take to the casino, I don't have to make a trip out to the parking lot for a second pack, you know?

    i didnt know you smoke? somehow it seems to fit your persona. it lends itself to the mysteriousness:D

    :49: at those prices...have your considered growing your own tobacco?

    anyone consider the E cigarettes? i have bought them in the past because i quit but i still need one every now and again. they dont have all the tar and crap but you still get the niccotine with none of the car ruining odor. i have only smoked in 2 vehicles that i have owned. my first 2 jeeps. my cherokee was my moms and she used to smoke like a chimney so it already stunk.
    and my YJ never had the roof on it except in the winter so i wasn't worried about it. when i bought my '02 focus i still smoked but i refused to smoke in it. ( i had been friends with a car detailer and he showed me what smoking in a car could do to the car) if i was on a long road trip and needed one...i would pull over and have one outside of the car.
