Well, I was at work a couple weeks ago and a co-worker says to me "Hey, there's a pretty good-sized puddle of oil under your wagon out there." I went and looked, and sure enough, a real good sized puddle. I checked the oil and there wasn't a drop in the car.

I called my mom and asked her to bring some oil with her. Luckily, we run into eachother every day at shift-change at work, and we always keep plenty of motor oil at my parents' house.

Well, I put a couple quarts in to get me home and then I looked closer and noticed it was the drain plug. Pulled it out and the threads actually fell right off the plug! Dad ran over to Weaver's and got me a new one and I was back in business. Glad it was an easy fix! I love my baby!

A recent pic of her, just 'cause I have one :p

Great looking Colony Park. Love them. I have had that problem with drain plugs before. I change out the drain plugs as routine about every 3 years, and clean the threads on the pans while I'm at it. Don't forget, the CP has a double sump pan, so i would change the other bolt at the next oil change, just to be safe.

    Sounds like a warped manifold.
I had one of those too. After milling it is quiet as a mouse!

A neighbor is trying to get me to buy his early 80's LTD, as well. If he comes down low enough, it'll be a fleet of five lol! I just can't help myself!

I rebuilt the Edelbrock on my '68 Ford tonight...almost. Started putting it back together, picked up one of the floats and noticed it was full of gas.

Seems like there's always something to keep you from finishing up a project in a timely manner.

Well, as most of you know, I bought my wagon sight unseen two years ago, and I still haven't seen it. A buddy in Massachusettes checked out the car, picked it up and has been storing it for me until his next trip down here to Virginia to visit family and friends here. He's planning on making that trip later this month, so it looks like I'll be getting my wagon soon.
But, the car sat for many years, and while the Station Wagon Forum member, that I bought the car from, did some work on it to put it back on the road after sitting for 15 years, there is alot more to do.
Over the last month, my buddy, who loves 66-67 B body Mopars, has been using much of his valuable time and his own personal parts inventory to get as much of the work done on it as possible prior to bringing it to me.
Its now had the rear springs re-arched to cure a sagging rear end, and its had the front end rebuilt with the addition of a front sway bar, and its already recieved front end alignment after all that work. (Now it looks like it sits to high though.)
A new heater core has been installed, new rear drums, wheel cylinders, transmission lines and new power steering hose.
Now, he's got the driver's door off, trying to fix a sagging hinge, and he's got the instrument cluster out trying to fix dash lights that aren't working.
I had no idea he would be doing all this for me. He's a true friend, but I really can't let him do all this when he has a home heating oil business to run and his own Coronets and GTX's demanding his attention. Still, I can't bring myself to ask him to stop working on it.

:evilsmile:Gosh Cuda - does your buddy need any more friends? :D I am readily available and would be a great friend to him if he needs any more project / err, I mean friends.

On a serious note, you are right, he is really doing you a favor by getting these things done for you. He would not do this if he did not want to. Friends like that are hard to come by, they really do not want anything back in return but a thank you and to know that they've helped you out in some way. You are obviously deserving in his mind, so that in itself says a lot about you to the rest of us as well. I'm sure in your own way you've earned his friendship, and he obviously values it.

Good for you. That is a very nice wagon. Looking forward to hearing you are driving it in the not too distant future.
