Hey there fellow wagon guys, How goes it? I'm the proud owner of a 1970 Buick Estate Wagon. I hail from Texas, USA. The wagon is for sale, but I see that you need to post 5 times before listing an ad in the For Sale area. (Yes, she does have the 3rd row seat!) Some other wagons I have owned are a 1968 Chrysler Town & Country (triple blue with woodgrain and the 440 plant), a 1970 Ford Country Sedan Galaxie 500 wagon with the 390 and the Big Happy Submarine Yellow paint (same color as my Buick wagon), a 1984 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, and a few others. Most people think I am nuts to have a 'kink' or a 'fetish' for station wagons, but I always have, and I reckon that I always will. These cars are our childhoods, and the history of America. Before trucks, vans and SUVs were the family car of choice, there was the station wagon!!! ... Before Henry Ford and the mass-produced passenger car, there was the station wagon, which transported passengers to and from the train stations ... Wagons are just beautiful, useful, utilitarian workhorses with plenty of torque and luxury for the road. People just do NOT see wagons running around anymore. This ain't the 90s anymore, when gas was still cheap and wagons were still plentiful. One must look high and low now to find a station wagon for sale, in ANY condition. Thank you crushers and scrap yards, Demolition Derby guys, the Chinese and the whole 'Cash for Clunkers' program, etcetera. I sure do hope that there are people out there with the money and the desire to restore these chrome plated, candy colored, woodgrained luxury battle tanks ... If people don't start restoring station wagons, they will just completely fall off the face of the earth, which sadly looks like is already happening!!! Somebody should get a hold of Jay Leno or something ... Anyways, just introducing myself and ranting a little.
