:Welcome:and good luck with your rare wagon. Sometimes original is different. I know it's difficult to resist making any vehicle look hot and wild. But keeping one original is often a great way to actually be different.
The Valdosta swap meet then Daytona Turkey run show and swap meet are in November. Both large and many original parts for sale. Valdosta usually has better buys.

Nice wagon! I don't think I've ever seen one that dirty! Just don't use Ajax on the paint. Some rubbing compound might actually bring some shine back to it.

I notice a broken front side marker light on the driver's front fender. I remember when they were $2.00 new at the local Chrysler dealer. I changed quite a number on the 72 and 75 Dodge Darts Ma had. She reverses like a sail boat taking in the wind, and they don't stand up to a brick wall too well. When you take the damaged one off, if it is the original, you will find a silver plastic gasket behind it. If you can, save that. 72 was the only year that used that piece, and replacements, even in 73, did not have it. It must be a rare part to find now.

That's a good plan, I hope you keep us posted with your progress.

There is a junkyard near you called "Old Car City" on the main highway in White, GA, I've heard good things about. I'm not sure if he'd have anything as new as your Plymouth, but it would be worth a look. It seems whenever I'm in that part of the state, he's closed.

The swap meet in Moultrie, GA is the weekend before Thanksgiving. (I think that is the one "CatmodelT" is referring to) Also, there is a meet in Perry, GA November 9th and 10th, typically not as big as Moultrie, but it is growing.

You may also want to check into the North Georgia Mopar Club, they are also having a Mopar show at Year One in Braselton, GA Sept. 8th.

Whew. I think I just told you everything I know. ;)

Anyways, keep us up to date with your progress please!
    Pete

No AJAX!!! :) so far we just gave it a pressure washing to get the grime off... it really looked so bad! I have 2 boys (17, 13) and when the first got in the back seat there were ants and spiders all over...

there were tons of ants under the middle and back seats... the rear (trunk) carpet was so dry rotted, it ripped out like paper and there was a huge nest of ants... so after a lot of Ortho Home defense and hosing down... most of the "residents" have been evacuated or exterminated. We have only cleaned the left side of the car so far... next is the right side and rear tailgate. there is a ton of grease, grime and dirt inside the door jambs.

if you rub your finger hard on the paint, you can see some of the pigment rubbing off... so I would guess a lot of the finish has already been worn down.

I will try and take some pics during cleaning this weekend... I have all the lights working now I believe. But have a slight brake fluid leak that I want to track down before I drive it. I'm pretty sure it's the rubber seal on the master cylinder reservoir lid. the rubber is very hard and the entire surface is rusted where it makes contact so I think it's all original. for safety sake, will probably just replace the entire master cylinder and go through all the pads/shoes this weekend. The 17 year old is itching to drive it... but Safety first!

Well thanks, when I first started out on the web, I couldn't find any other cars like mine, then the wagon craze started and a few have popped up along the way, but I can truthfully say its still probably less than 10, and even fewer were regents. Good luck on your cleaning and definitely post pics. Also good luck on finding parts. Anything body, trim, or interior related that is on the rear doors back is nearly non existent. Mechanically it is however the same as any other b-body thankfully.
The master cylinder leak could very well be the gasket, mine leaks too, always has and probably always will. I just keep an eye on the level and clean it off. It just barely seeps out on mine.

And search 72 satellite wagon and guess what!? You are right on page 2! There are so few of these on the internet, anytime a new one comes up, its just one more needle found in the haystack.

Unfortunately, master cylinder leak was not something I could live with as it was spewing brake fluid all over the battery, radiator and hoses... plus, I just didn't feel like taking a chance on running low and not having brake issues on this ole girl. I also needed to take off all 4 wheels and clean/inspect the brakes. So get this... reservoir gasket was $10.99 and the rebuilt master cylinder was $15.99. Mine was so nasty, it was a no brainer even if it was not that cheap.

We got the new master cylinder installed all 4 sets of brakes cleaned and inspected. Luckily, all bleeder valves worked free and all the pads/shoes are in pretty good shape.

The Master Cylinder was not bad at all to replace, but bleeding the lines took a little while... If you haven't flushed the lines in a while, you might as well replace the master cylinder and flush all the crud out of the brake lines. The old brake fluid was so nasty and looked almost as dark as black coffee.

It's great that you addressed the brake issues on your wagon but with all the brake fluid that leaked into the booster plan on having to change that in the near future too. Very cool wagon you got there!

Understood, your issue was much worse than mine, mine just dribbles a little down the side of the master and doesn't even drip off. Definitely a good idea to give the entire system a good once over like that.
