Not a vintage pic, but a vintage 40's Greyhound. Local guy looking for items for it.... http://www.usedvictoria.com/classif...ilia-tokensphotos1940s-Greyhound-bus_17637604
I'd love to have that Greyhound, or that yellow customized GMC school bus............. Or almost everything else I see! Gimme gimmie! That is a cool 'ol bus! Yup...I remember those driving around. I remember my granddad telling me about those buses.
Yeah. RIGHT! You were probably DRIVING one of those that I saw when I was a little kid! I'd like to have that bus. Back in the day, I thought that looked like a really modern, streamlined bus!
I only have one more day to put up with this mental abuse. You will miss me while I am in Illinois sweating and wandering around looking for old school mates, relatives, and the one friend I had when I was young. Hope he remembers me!
Probably ture. Mom said I had the wrong kind of friends. Them Tombstone Pizza guys were always sneaky!
I am surprised TX Wagon has not posted this here. I met him in Abilene a couple of months ago to view his treasures. This is one of them. I hope he doesn't mind me posting the following from another forum. Here is the 1934 Austin Utility Coach bus my grandad got in the 60s. A couple had been moving from California to Missouri when the bus broke down here in Texas. My grandad came across them and heard their story. In exchange for the bus, my grandad gave them a ride to the bus station and two bus tickets. My grandad had wanted it just for its aluminum content, but fortunately it never got scrapped. This one had been converted into a camper using the rear bench for a fold out bed which is still there. This is 1 or 18 originally built in 1933 and 1934 before GM hired Dwight Austin. I'd love to see this wind up in the hands of a museum and someone who can give it a proper restoration. Here's an article with more about Austin Utility, http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/a/austin/austin.htm Here is a picture of a 1933 model
Forestry crew "bus" 1977, I am on the far left. Another CDF crew bus, 1960 cornbinder, photos from 1974.
