I'm going to be riding down with a group this Saturday to a salvage yard called Old Car City USA, in White Ga. We're just going down to shoot pictures. Has anybody else been there?

Allright folks, I have to say this place had a bunch of cars and trucks in there. There are over 4000 vehicles spread out over 34 acres. Most all the vehicles were pre-1980. For $15.00 you can go in there and tour the yard. They will sell you a whole vehicle, but as of now they aren't selling parts off of them. If you need a "parts" car though there is a immense selection. They have it set up as a photographer's paradise. Most all of these cars are too rough to restore, I wound up taken a ton of pictures that I still need to go through but here's a few. If you are in the area it's well worth the $15.00 to walk around in there with a camera...

I didn't get my moneys worth of pictures! How about telling us where and how to get there ?
    Sounds interesting.
But $15 to get in a junk yard seems high. Hope others don't hear this. I can go to DisneyWorld for a few dollars more and they have lots more cars in their lot to pick a part.:bouncy:
No fair. You snuck them in while I was typing....thanks.
Did you get any prices? Some of those don't look too bad.

It's on US 411 off of exit 293 on I-75 North of Atlanta. I had a blast and can't wait to go back some time. Get a good pair of walking shoes and a bottle of water and a camera. You can look it up on google. It's called "Old Car City USA" in White GA.

I'm not sure what they would be asking for "whole" cars, honestly if I were them I would sell parts off these things. It was stunning to say the least of the variety of vehicles in there...

I believe many---many---and even many more years ago we camped in that area. Remember seeing a bunch of Model T and Model A's which I was into then. Not sure about the junk yard though.
Does seem odd they are not parting but there are so many rules and laws about these yards. At least these are not being crushed.

You know....most yards will sell parts but NOT the whole car. Strange. And sad. There are a lot of good parts there, but, you are right, HH, most of these that I see are too far gone to restore. But many sure do have some good parts! Thanks for taking the time to shoot pix and share them with us!(y)

And sadly most people only need a few parts and don't have a way to haul a complete car or store it at home. ---or in a storage area.

The local pull-apart here charges $1 to get in, $15 I might pay to do like HH and take some pictures but I think that is where he is making his money if he is not selling parts!
That is a steep entrance fee to a junk-yard...Maybe I am just too cheap

Yes, you are cheap. But so am I. As I wrote, some amusement parks are cheaper. But at least those cars are not being crushed......yet.
