As a dyed in the wool blue oval guy I am not qualified to give an objective opinion. :D Both look like nice rides BTW.

As for the Squire vs. Estate. It is a hard decision I'm sure the Squire with the 428 is real rare, but is there a build sheet or a number in the vin proving it is real? The Buick looks to be ready to go like it is, and will be a little bit more comfortable for driving and towing since it has a/c, better seats, and more torque. I'd probably go with the Buick because I'm guessing the Squire is rare and deserves a proper restoration.[/QUOTE]

I have the original delivery sheet for the car. It is a numbers-matching wagon. The gentleman who ordered it owned the Ford dealership in Jamestown, TN.

The Buick needs some work. The Ford has AC as well.

Well folks, as I continue my comparison of the two wagons, I have made a somewhat shocking discovery. The Ford actually has more front leg room that the Buick. I think it must have something to do with the configuration of dash. The Buick is bulkier than the Ford. I haven't made a final decision, but I am leaning a little more toward the Ford. We'll see........

Well, prof....looks like I have to help you with the decision. Since I almost bought that Buick way back I guess I'll just have to take it off your hands. :D

Of course I haven't driven either, but if they were mine and I had to get rid of one, it would be the Buick. The Country Squire is a more unique wagon with the 428 and all the options.

My PERSONAL preference is for the Ford, but then I seem to have 'blue ovals' for corpuscles. LOL. It is also very easy to upgrade the Ford for much better fuel economy when not towing. Bet I could get the old girl into the high 30's fairly easily, and for less than the Buick sells for!

Better fuel mileage would be awesome! Would really like to know what upgrades you would recommend. We definitely need to keep in touch. :yahoo:
