I got lost somewhere between "I'm coming home" and "already home and working in a hick town". Where'd you land again? Roanoke?

    HAHAHA, its all good Bewber.

I gave up on the Virginia idea, I contacted the employer I had when I left and they are begging me to come back. I walk right into my old position, shift and pay rate, just like I never left.

I am going to be staying in Clymer, NY, the farthest SWNY town you can get. The PA state line is 1.7 miles south or 3.4 miles west from my parents house. I will be working at Bay Valley Foods in Northeast, PA, just over the boarder and up in the Lake Erie shore.

I leave exactly 7 says and 20 minutes from the time I am typing this reply. I land in Erie, PA at 11:05am EST on the 13th, 29 hours and 30 minutes from the time I take off.

Now here is something that kinda distresses me about the vehicle deal. My bestfriend and cousin Steve, who is brothers with the guy with the 95 Blazer I was talking about, told me that with his brother Mike, dont get my hopes to high on that deal. He is known for backing out or changing his mind.

So I am still hunting and finding some backup vehicles. I found a couple S10 pickups, one is a nice 87 2wd extra cab with a knocking 2.8v6, $800obo, another is a 91 standard cab 2wd S10 roller that was a V8 swap and ready for another V8 and tranny for $600obo and looks clean, but need a little rear frame work, no biggy.

I also found a 179k 94 S10 Blazer 4door 2wd(I prefer 2wd) with a rebuilt tranny and new tank, sending unit, pump and straps for $800. Body has some light rocker rust and some dents, i think I could get it for $650-700

Then there is a combo deal, 2x 94 Rangers, both are 4.0 V6 Auto's and 4x4. One has high mileage, is a rust free AZ truck. The other is a parts truck that has a rebuilt motor and tranny with 65K on them both and papers to prove it. $950obo for the combo.

Lastly is a 83 Malibu wagon with the 229 CHEVY! 3.8V6. She has surface rust and blisters, but running and driving for $800obo cash.

    Then a solid '71 Dodge D100 "The Dude" package with a 318 4 speed for $1000obo.

I am torn, I would take any of them, they are all in different directions, so its not like I can go from one, to the other to check them out without a driving several hours to each one from the last. My wife hates the wagon and the Dodge, tho those are the 2 I am most tempted to get. The Ranger's, well they are both Ranger's and I don't know anyone who has not had issues with the 4.0, the transfer cases or their trannys, but they are a hell of a deal. The 94 Blazer, well, its tempting, but its a 4 hour ride to go look at it and if its junk, thats a bunch of wasted time and gas. the other 2, well the extra cab is super nice, but needs a rebuild or replace and a 2.8 is not a cheap date because not many left in the bone yards and rebuild kits are $280 and thats not including a cam or rods, if the rod is bad, so that will be over $500-600 to rebuild a puke powered motor. The V8 91 is really a fun idea, but damn, its a V8 in a light truck, I will be in all kinds of trouble with that, tho I can get a 85,000 mile 150hp '77 350 and a TH350 for next to nothing from Steve, and even pay for it later down the road, he will even help me drop it in.

So, what to do, what to do, I might even still end up with the 95 Blazer yet, I just don't know till i get home and see what the deal is.

Oh OK, Just like Sams Club, which my wife loves and I hate! Its fine if you are shopping for a small Army sized family, but just 4 of us, its a stupid waste. Their prices per item as the same as Walmart, I will just stick with them, since they have run all but Wegmans and Giant Eagle out of the area and the latter two are overpriced for the same stuff.

    Thanks Fannie.

We make the store brand Salad Dressing, Meat Marinade's and BBQ Sauces for all those places and more at my work. But I have never been to any of them. All we have for grocery stores is. Topps, Giant Eagle, Wegmans, Walmart, Aldi's and Saves Alot. If I head 40 miles into Jamestown, NY, there is Surefine and Farmfresh.

I was told by my supervisor, that we just took on a no-name brand that sells in Canada, its just a yellow label with black writing. We also make products for Mexico with all Spanish writing, and the middle east with nothing but Arabic writing on it. I love how the Picante commercials say that Texans hate Salsa made in places like NYC, well their Western Beef products are made by us in PA. :rofl2:

I stopped shopping anyplace. Once milk got over $1 a gallon and bread over 25 cents a loaf I started letting my wife shop alone.
She got tired of me saying "put that back, it's too expensive." :slap:

I sit in the truck listening to country music and watching PEOPLE OF WAL-MART or Sav-A-Little. :rofl2:

Well since I know you have a smartphone, get the Craiglook app when you get home. It'll automatically notify you when a Craigslist ad is posted that meets your criteria - like section, keywords, price, and distance radius from your zipcode.

Rest assured, you're stressing about what will be a non-factor. As long as there's folks that are broke, there's never going to be a shortage of $1000 beaters with heaters.

Like they say, everything will work out in the end, and if things don't seem to be working out - that's how you know it's not the end.

This is something I've never heard. It sure is comforting at my age. I'm gonna live forever !
