I just joined as my Mom wants to sell her 72 Pontiac Grand Safari 9 seat station wagon..... She's the original owner and still attached, but doesn't drive anymore.

Any suggestions where to list it for sale?? I'm not a car person so even a basic intro on how to list/ sell would be really helpful!

More specifics such as location, pics, and price may help getting it sold.

That model Grand Safari was a beautiful machine, hope it goes to a good home! Post up some :camera:here if you can, a member here might need one! You may need to make 5 posts or so before you can offer something up for sale though, not sure. Probably 50% of mine are inane or nonsense so join right in!

Is this not a direct repeat of a post by another name quite awhile back? You get the best price on eBay. But you will have to have pix where ever you try to sell it.

I hate to see someone join just to sell a wagon then leave. But I guess we should be thankful we get a chance at it. Without pictures and info chances are slim to none though!:camera:
But 1tireman is right about us being a charming bunch.:rofl2:

Hi Catherine,:Welcome: we are all very friendly and do our best to see that these wagons find a good home. This site has members from all over the world and most are very passionate about their cars. We all respect each other personal life so you only need to post what you want people to know.

This is what you need to do if you are serious about selling this car. If you have never sold anything in an ad or forum such as this just keep in mind, what would you need to know if you were buying this car?

Before you post the car anywhere, clean it, inside and out! Just like a house you want folks to look at the car in a positive way. There should be nothing that would give a prospective buyer any negative thoughts such as litter, dog hair, shopping bags.

Check out a few car ads so you can see the kind of info folks are posting.

Take lots of pictures, don't be shy. This is a time when you can't have too many pictures. If there is anything about the car that is a concern for(maybe a dent) make sure you include that in your pictures. You want to be as honest as possible.

Get as much info together as possible. Maintenace info, any reciepts, the last time it had an oil change, the milage. Anything that could help, form a picture as to how this car was looked after. The more info you can provide the less questions you'll get and be perpared you will be asked questions.

Who will be selling this car, you or your mom? You will need to proivde a location as to where this car can be seen and contact info. Some folks perfer to commuicate only through emails but that can be fustrating if they aren't answered on a regular basis. Personally I perfer using my home phone, I have an answering machine that can screen the calls when I'm not at home and you can usually get vibes over the phone if folks are serious or not. Either way it's your decission. Just be efficient in returning the calls/emails.

Once you have all this info together there are many free places/sites that you can list the car for sale. You are on the right track seeking out like minded people that already have an interest in this type of car. You can post pics and some history about this car right here in this thread. But forum rules dictate that you must be a member for at least five posts before you can offer a car for sale in the classified section. Remember there are members here from ALL OVER THE WOULD AND THEY ARE ALL INTERESTED IN STATIONWAGONS, and you have one that is very desirable.

If you want people to be serious about buying your car, you need to be serious about selling it. You may not be a car person but most of the info you need to sell it is probably right in your driveway. Check out the glove box, talk to your mom.

I hope this helps you abit, we'll be looking for your pictures and your posts.

    Good Luck!;)
