Wow Tedy, That's a heckuva group of pics man. Awesome. (was hoping I would see a 64 Plymouth ad....) I find it interesting chivy added the Suburban and Blazer to the wagon list, but FORD left out the Bronco.

All these brochures have me wishing I could go to my local dealer and buy one new off the lot!

    Thanks Tedy.

For those who do not recognize the picture it is of the Little Rock 9 arriving on their first day of school at the formerly segregated (white only) Little Rock Central High School in 1957 .

Being a historian (my first major in college ) I spend a large amount of time exploring our past. Like many, I tend to look at things through rose colored glasses. The truth is the "Good old days" weren't always good. I was going to post something with the pic, but didn't want to get too far off topic.

But, since it's been brought up, I think it's an amazing snapshot of real life. That is one of the main reasons I love this thread. Sure, I LOVE the cars. Honestly though, that's not my main attraction. They are just a piece of the puzzle, part of the bigger picture. This thread is not just idealistic corporate press release photos showing perfect people in perfect settings with perfect cars (though there are those and I do appreciate them). Most of these pictures depict real people, in real cities and towns, living real everyday life.

This photo in particular is just that, a snapshot of real life. A moment in time that represents on one hand an ugly period, while on the other hand a beautiful and courageous period in our history. It gives me great faith in the overwhelming power of the human spirit.

In August 1950, the 227 men of B Company marched through downtown Duluth to the train station. They were Marine reserves on their way to the Korean War.
