As mentioned these wagons are not all that common down here. It's somewhat of an "event" for me to see one on the road nowadays, other than mine.

Well I came across not one, but two this weekend.

The first one I'm in deep love with. I took the family to dinner in downtown Round Rock Friday night, and parked in a parking garage off main street. Driving up I came around a corner and there was a gorgeous black over tan '95 Roady wagon sitting all by itself in the garage.

I jumped out of the car, my wife making fun of me, and snapped the pics below, and then I pulled out a pen and paper and wrote a "if you want to sell this car please call me" note, and also added my e-mail address and the GMLongroof Forum address.

This car looks a lot better than the pics my crappy cell phone took under the weak garage lights. The paint is great, wood is good but needs the trim around it re-done, typical. Interior is CLEAN tan leather. Texas car, NO RUST, underside looks new. So far, no call, but I can hope!

The second Roady is also a '95, but this one is SAD. One of my co-workers mentioned that he'd been seeing a car "just like mine" parked behind the Arbor movie theater in a shopping mall near the Arboretum Mall. He lives near there, and said he'd seen it a lot so the person must work in the shopping center.

He said it "wasn't as clean as my car..." Well, I drove over yesterday....and he's right, it was sitting there, and it's not as clean as mine.....more to the fact, it's beat to hell....

Pretty sad white car. Hate to see them in that kind of shape. It is an Austin car though, so no rust at all. Still has the Covert Buick tag on the tailgate, so it's been here all it's life, but it's rattly. Poor thing.

Anyway I hope to hear from the owner of the black car. Even if they don't want to sell it, at least I hope they pop in on the forum. That was a pretty car!

I see them around here occasionally, but it's probably just a handful of them in town. I've also seen one Custom Crusier and a blacked out Caprice.

So is that when your wife said no more cars? You probably have no interest in my Century wagons, but you know you want to chop the roof off of one and make the 74 Regal into a wagon.

The rule is I have to sell something before bringing another toy home, and I really LIKE all my current toys, so I'm out of luck for new ones!

That black Roady is a beauty. But park it at the Mall a few months and then look at it again. Those parking lots and their drivers are terrible! I've watched people getting in and out of those heavy doors.
My rule is never park anyplace except an end row or far far away. :naughty:

They aren't extraordinarily uncommon in these parts but it's still a big deal for me to see one on the road. There's a white/woodgrain Roadie, a snow white Caprice, and a battered blue Caprice that I see frequently around town. I haven't been quick enough to capture any pics of them yet. None of thos includes forum member kurtbrown's beautiful green WB4 that I often see parked outside his office when I'm walking to the pub at lunch.

A neighbor of my nephew's has/had a white '96 that makes this white one look show room fresh in terms of road thrash... The guy told Brian he wouldn't take less than $11,000 and could hold out for much more because wagons are hot right now and because his has the LT1.... I bet he ends up scrapping it. Guy doesn't seem to be dealing with a full deck.

That's actually the town-hall parking garage but it's free to use at night and backs right up to main street in our little downtown. I'm betting that car belonged to someone there for dinner on Main.

Off topic, but the 100+ year-old main street in our little suburb went from closed retail buildings, some antique shops and law/insurance offices near town hall 10 years ago to hip little coffee houses, some good night clubs with live music, and some really good local-flavor resteraunts today, so it's getting to be a neat place to go at night. Kinda cool. No need to drive down into Austin for some nightlife!

Nice to see the traditional downtowns coming back to life!

Mike, back where we are from in central Illinois it's the same way. Some nice small family restaurants have opened, or reopened, nice bars serving food, and they even have a once a year bike nite on a Friday and car show on the following Saturday. Close off all downtown including side streets for a block each side of main.
Finally downtown is coming back in many places and the Malls are dieing out. Yes, station wagons seem to be coming back.

Hahaha, got my wife doing it now! :rofl2:

She just sent me this pic, was on her way back from lunch. This is in the frontage road of Mopac Blvd just off Hwy 183 in Austin. Poor thing needs a bath and a detail, but it's an LT1 car. Thanks Misty!
