Oppsie, forgot! It's January in Oregon! I threw out all of my long flannel insulated undies and warm boots! Maybe in July!
Wow, that is a pretty fury! I bet it goes for higher than just 2 grand. AS FOR searching for moss covered relics.... there is probably 200,000 square miles where those cars might be. I have examined all the... what? 300 photos? Took me three hours and the only clue I could find were a few power lines running through the trees and a small river in the background. That narrowed it down some and I am Google mapping a few locations around the Nestucca to Seaside area searching with the Satellite. But... am pretty busy with work so can only spend a short time in the evenings looking. And... I could be totally wrong. It could be anywhere on the West side of the Coast range... even down to nor-cal before the Red Wood forest!
Thanks Jairus, from remembering looking and finding old cars while flying small planes around central Illinois, it just doesn't look the same from some remote gravel road! Never know what's in the back 40 or behind a barn!
HeeHee...nobody's ever called me a young whippersnapper, especially all the 20-somethings I work with! And what? 45 more years of scraping knuckles, oil dripping on me, rust falling in my eyes, and banging my bald head on the open hood??? I can't wait!
Are you guys talking about those cars on the YouTube video? The guy who posted that said they were all later crushed...
Aaaaaaaw! Darn, silverfox in lower Wisconsin and me in middle Florida, being young whippersnappers ourselves, were gonna come out there and borrow some parts off those many cars and trucks. Makes sense though after people found out then they'd have to get rid of them so the tree huggers could watch the trees grow more. As far as you getting called names. You ain't seen nuthing yet if we like you! And it could get ugly if we don't like you. That hasn't come up yet cause we like almost everyone.............except those wagon demolition derby guys!
Just what Orygun needs.... more damn trees! Is it true the highest point in FL is a freeway overpass?
Actually Florida has a few high points. I've been to a mountain near Orlando. It gives they illusion you are going downhill up! That's what THEY call it and some hill above Tallahssee in the upper Panhandle that is somewhat above sealevel. Mostly a few tall buildings are the highest points I remember. But I'm from Illinois so i am still lost. About Oreguuun: Last time I was there those old cars were not even made yet. All I remember about Oregon is rain, grapes, and lots of ships. Dad worked building them during the war.
Sadly, I seem to remember too much. None of it makes me rich or seems important! I also remember Chicago! Those sort of traumas keep me awake nites! I also know there are still low overpasses and tall semis in and around Chicago! Lucky I was always only an observer.
"rain, grapes, and lots of ships"... I'll remember that. Still no luck on selling my wagon. eBay winner bailed. Now it's on Craigslist. Sure would like to sell it & move on! Someone suggested the starter may be stuck to the flywheel. Possible?
