A few years ago I bought a set of really cool custom center cap decals to go on my Impala SS wheels. The decals were a one-off, came from a shop in Michigan that has since closed down.

I'd never seen another decal this detailed for these wheels, and I get a ton of positive comments on them at car shows.

Well I had to get new tires about two weeks ago, and one of the decals was damaged, the tire guy dropped it...grrrr. So I posted about it to the Longroof group, and a guy with a graphics shop in North Carolina e-mailed me, said he'd make a set to sell me. Quoted a fair price and I Paypal'd him.

Had a package in my mailbox when I got back from Dallas this weekend. Opened it up and was excited to see my new center cap decals. Good color, nice gloss....

But on closer inspection something looked a little.....off....

Oh well...they're right half the time.

I've already e-mailed the guy that made these. He was very cool and is making me a new set right now. I also sent him a few pics of the decals I have on the car now and he's going to change the font just a bit to match those better.

For now, anyone want some real one-of-a-kind center caps? Mater is popular in the Cars movies! Ha! I got a good laugh over them!

Seriously though, these are SHARP and I get comments on mine all the time. If you want a set they are $20. Just e-mail Joseph at sign4sale@aol.com . He'll get you a set right out, with correct spelling. I really appreciated him putting these together and not charging a setup fee or anything, and he made these from just a pic of mine. Nice work.

I'd really like to see him sell a lot of these for his efforts so order a set for your Roady folks! :)

    -Mike

I've referred to these big, beautiful Buicks as Roadmonsters, Roadmashers, Toadmasters, Toadblasters, Roadblasters and many other nicknames, but I never thought of Roadmater.

Kind of suggests some old-time Drive-In Movie activity...lots of room back there. :rofl2:

    Roadmater?

Maybe the artist was thinking of 'Mater the tow truck from the Disney movie, Cars. Towmater, Roadmater... could start a trend!
