    To me, the Aztek...

...looks like it ought to be painted in a military color scheme and towing a small howitzer...

Never thought of the Gremlin as a wagon. Had one once, "X" model with a 304 in it. Would move along pretty good. Now the Spacer, I can agree FUGLY!!! Without a question in my mind (or at least what I use for one). However, as has been said before, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Spacer wagon was even worse.

I gotta call the Aztec possibly the ugliest thing foisted upon the motoring public here. I say thing, because, well, it's not a car, truck, suv...just a means of transportation. Must get great fuel mileage as I'm sure you'd have to sneek up on the pumps to get fuel. Looks like it was designed by a kindergardener. One who couldn't draw. Makes all the other "weird"(yes, there's weird and there's ugly) stuff look downright sexy.
Chevy Malibu MAXX. WTF? Is it a hatchback? A 4dr with the back squashed in? Who knows. Thankfully the new Malibu lost this body option.
Chevy Avalanche(the first ones)-The plastic body cladding had me looking for the Rubbermaid sticker..
Toyota Tundra. The new ones. Possibly the ugliest truck ever foisted upon the motoring public here. Maybe they'll pull 10k, maybe they're fast, but I'd hate to wake up every morning and look outside only to realize I was making payments on a Tundra. Yuk.
Chevy Monte Carlo- the newer bodystyle. Taking a few styling cues from the '70s Montes and putting them on an ugly aeroblob and you end up with an ugly aeroblob with a few cool touches. But hey, it's tied to nascar so it's ok right? Not really.
All the new Mazdas. I used to like Mazdas sorta conservative styling but these new ones have an exaggerated smiley face frontend.

Notice how all these are fairly new vehicles? JMHO, you don't have to make it yours!

Yea wagonman. Sadly only a handfull of newer vehicles even look "cute"! Most of those are tiny sporty looking things with weedwacker engines and tupperware sidepanels. Even most pickup trucks look like something made for "girls." Who ever designed trucks with four foot beds? But our kids, your kids, and millions of people are buying them. It gets them to work, to the mall, and to the Clubs. Most barely know how to unscrew the gas cap. Ooops fuel cap! I'm liking the 50's thru 70's vehicles more every day!:slap:

I used to hate the Aztek, but I think the ones with the alloy wheels don't look too bad. At least it's got some character. Now the ones with the steelies and hubcaps still look butt ugly.

The Malibu Maxx was one of the only newer vehicles that I liked. It was different, it had some character. The Malibu sedan looks like half the other cars on the road.

The Avalanche and newer Monte - I'm with you all the way. The Navigator was another one. It also kinda bugs me how they did these new Camaro, Mustang, Charger..... tried to make it look like the original car but they got giant wheels and just don't look right.

hey low low, the mercury wagon you saw was a colony park...its based on the grand marquis sedan. they are actually getting to be rare in the USA. i guess they make a nice demo derby car:cry:. and not to mention the newest one is 20 yrs old.

Just hang on and wait, just like clothing styles, wheels will get smaller again. Remember when cars had tall wagon wheels? Then down to tiny 13" and 14's on even big cars? Those big wheels today are only crap forced on people from the low rider hip-hop crowd. :rofl2: Compare the prices in a new tire and an older size. I've bought cars cheaper than some new tires or wheels. Speaking of wheels, most new styles of them are butt ugly!

My vote for the ugliest new vehicle....
The Nissan Murano Cross-Cabriolet. $42k at your nearest Nissan dealer
(also top of my list for 'The vehicle nobody asked for...')

You North Americans are so lucky not to have these on your roads...

these critters create more road accidents (scaring other drivers by their looks) than drivers texting:
