As we all know, the AMC gremlin is about the ugliest car in the world.. But i dont know if this volvo masterpiece of design reached you? "Black beauty"
And this is a erlier model.. Pimped out with a sporty stripe would made it a killer on the boulevards...
Not that ugly, but Jeeez... It was a horrible ride, with a -69 B18 and four speed and NO sound insulation, and no chassie modifications most of the Express owners is deaf, and must have been seasick every day at work...
Not everyone thinks the amc gremlin is ugly, i love them, they had there own look, look at the cars these days talk about ugly, they all look the same, the only way you can tell them apart is look at there names.
We didn't get that Volvo 343 here in the states. I was wondering why back then- Volvo could have used a slightly smaller car to sell here. Here's a real ugly one. It was ugly then. It's still ugly...the Datsun F10...with 'wood' even...
Most cars that people consider ugly really aren't, they're just funky looking. When I see a Gremlin today, I think it's kinda cool compared to all of the souless aero jelly bean ovoids on the road today. Without badges on a car (and sometimes even with them) you can't tell what kind of car it really is. Now that's ugly. Tom
Good there's a thing called 'taste'.... we had that discussion before here on the board (also about 'fugly' cars)... IMHO the Gremlin is one that deserves its place in automobile history... and certainly not as one of the ugliest cars. BTW: that 'Black Beauty" is just a rebadged DAF. (may I mention ALL french cars (period) and the Fiat Multipla as the ugliest on my personal 'ugliest cars ever'-list )
Absolutley! Taste is a wonderful thing! As i remember, the last discussion on this board was about one of the most beautiful cars i know, which some disagreed about.. I dont think the Gremlin is that "ugly" Odd, and kind of fun is what i really mean in my first post here.. I now realize that i had a bad name on this thread, but please remember that enlish is my second language and i ment no harm with expressing me that hard.. I am kind of curious of the "odd" models of australia though.. The ones we seen here, of the Holdens and Vauxhalls is really interesting.. Please share some pics of "oddies" from all continents, why not here?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the Gremlin is a rather good looking car. I actually like all of the other cars posted except for the Vette. I might make some enemies, but I don't like the look of the boxy Fords and GM's from the late 70's and 80's. That Merlin wagon that was posted a few days ago is ugly as heck to me. I would drive a Volvo like this in a heartbeat: My DD is a Ford Festiva which some may think is an ugly car but I enjoy driving it, especially when passing gas stations :
As i myself have changed the name of this thread to odd, and funny cars i think i should share some more funny cars, hopefully you never seen these...
I´ll just keep adding pics that i find.. This one has a great bodywork! Not really my style, but sweet work done!
