Wagons in vintage Street scenes

I was just looking at that too! I am thinking to myself, "What the H is that rig in the background?" Blew the pic up to try and figure it out.

Looking at the hairstyles of the people in the picture, this almost looks like it may have been staged at a later date, perhaps mid-late 70's?

That is a cool picture, and I'll bet $ it very well could be taken in South Africa. Those trucks are Canadian Built "Pacific's" that were Built in Vancouver Canada for many a generation but the company is no more as of the late 80's I believe. I can't find the real info now but I remember these masive multi engine trucks were a special order for South African Railways and designed to be hoocked together as train locamotives would be.
