I'm curious.. Just started taking a walk down memory lane and thinking about the ones I've had. I'm only 35 but have had quite a few. Not really classics or anything too collectable but they each have been a part of my and shared some interesting life experiences.

    In order:

1979 Chrysler LeBaron Town and Country
Dark Green With Green Interior - Loaded
65,000 miles (sold before putting it on the road)

    1983 Subaru GL
    Maroon 5spd
Bought out of a farmers field where it was parked 7 years earlier when his wife died. 82,000 miles put a battery in it and it fired right up first click of the key after years sitting.. purred like new. First car and met an unfair fate of kid stupidity and a big rock. Best memory: Stupid feude with an ex friend.. drove by his place one night with other friends turned the lights off and rammed his Caprice woodie. Moved that sucker 3ft down the road.. caught it right in the rear wheel well and messed it up good. Only bent my bumper which was straightened the next day i body shop (y) Don't hate on me, this guy made my life literal hell. Even stole my spare keys before this and would borrow/steal my mint '78 30kmi New Yorker for joy rides among other things

    1986 Ford Escort
    5spd
A back yard freebie junker with a rod knock. Ran it with 80w90 in it LOL Man on a cool morning the oil pump would labor and the engine barely run till it warmed up. First car to outrun the cops with.. well raced into a parking lot and evaded tickets. Car was such junk if you took off too fast the exhaust would pop loose and you'd have to reset it and the stabalizer bar for the shifter rotted and gears were impossable to find.. oh and the tailgate was rotted closed.. and only brakes were one front caliper LOL Never did figure out that one before junking it

    1986 Chevy Cavalier
    Dark Blue Auto
Freebie out of someones yard. Nice solid clean car they kissed a deer damaging only the header and parked it. Fixed it and drove it awhile before getting bored and selling.. interesting confusing memories with this one LOL

    1987 Subaru GL
    Pinkish Brown 5spd 4x4
Freebie out of a neighbors yard.. he thought the rearend was bad but it was just the driveshaft. Drove that car about 100,000 and so many memories.. such a crazy time. Best memory.. bad oil pan seal and it'd smolder sometimes. Pulled up to the club with a friend parking right near the door. It had a flare up so I just popped the hood and grabbed my washer fluid and poured it all over my smoking engine.. closed the hood and started into the club.. my friend looking at me with a Dude WTFH open mouth. I was like ehh.. she'll be fine its out.. lets go in :biglaugh:

    1989 Tord Taurus LX
White Fully Loaded w 3rd seat
$300 car I got that was traded where I worked. The thing was completely rust streaked but not rusty at all and interior was dirty.. buffed it out and gave it a nice TLC detail and it looked new.. best deal ever! Loved this car!

    1990 Subaru Loyale
White Fully Loaded Auto Converted to 5spd Dual Range 4x4
$300 car i should have avoided.. had a rebuilt motor but bad trans. Engine ended up being noisy and used oil. Put deluxe GL interior, Power mirrors and 5spd. Build quality of this '90 was horrible even I couldnt make it right.. always something.. rear wheel bearing was the last straw and it was gone

    1993 Ford Escort
    White 5spd
Bought this car for $1,300 to replace the Subie. What a great car! My first work car. Learned to perfect clutchless driving when the pressure plate failed 130 miles from home. A ton of miles logged in it with my English Springer.. it helped with 3 moves and saw a lot of turmoil and change in my life and even got to kiss a Saabs a$$ LOL Gave it to a friend to use and got it back with both struts pounded up through the speakers. Sad cause it had 250k and still purred and drove new otherwise

    1994 Volvo 850
Blue Green with Tan Leather, 5spd, Sunroof, Winter pkg (headlight wipers, front and rear heated seats) Premium Audio.
VERY rare clean and hard to find car killed by a falling tree less than a year after I found it This car was my first real love :(

    1999 Saturn SW2
    Maroon 5spd Fog, Trac/ABS
Still have for parts lasted till 306,000 miles before the head gasket went. This car went through hell and back. Sold it to a friend when I got a Grand Cherokee.. repossessed it @ 145k with a broken drivers mirror, broken out pass window, busted cv axle, no oil in the pan, front brakes worn.. uhh.. the inside pads were completely worn through the backing and halfway down the caliper piston and the back of the rotors were halfway through the fins!!! Fixed the car and put it into service for work. It held up great considering.. but was using a quart evert 500 when it finally gave up. But still got 40mpg.. go figure

    1998 Volvo V70XC
Dark Blue with Tan Leather, Auto, Fully Loaded Car
My money pit LOL One owner well maintained car bought for $2,000 to fix and keep forever. Was going to spring for a 5spd conversion and restore. Started fixing things that were failing to make it 100% and it was literally one $500 parts run after another.. then something else would go. 9 months and over $7,000 into the car it just up and no reason lost compression on a cyl.. i did a one day only before I come to my sences craigslist ad for $1,500 to dump it and someone came and snatched it up. Yea I was out a lot of money but can't say I miss being under that hood 1-2 times a week LOL At least It did give me about 70,000 miles in that 9 months so the mileage write off helped

    2000 Saturn SW2
    Silver 5spd
My daily driver bought almost 1 year 9 months ago with 150,000 miles. Got it for an awesome deal at $1,700. It was a one owner and got serviced at saturn every 3,000. Got it so cheap because it had a bad splice effecting driveability as well as a failing TPS. Fixed those on the spot and drove it 300 miles home. I've done the brakes a couple times as well as the front end parts, struts all around, waterpump, alternator, wheelbearings twice and thats it. Still running the original clutch LOL She's now got 346,000 miles and counting.. uses a quart every 2,000. Will be getting new ac next week though since that failed yesterday

Well theres my wagon history.. probably not that interesting but was at least fun for me to remember LOL

I always loved and wanted an old wagon, but I did not get my first until I came across a pretty nice 68 Bel Air wagon in 96. Then it went on from there. I never owned any at the same time. Here they are in order.

    The 68 Bel Air-Sold it to buy a 68 firebird :banghead3:

89 Caprice Estate-a guy without insurance made a left in front of my wife and blew that car away:cry:

68 Cutlass wagon- My dumb Ass fell asleep at the wheel and drove through a mini van. No one hurt :banghead3::banghead3:

69 Vista Cruiser- Never could get that olds to run right. got sick of it and sold it. :banghead3:

2001 Saturn SW- Got it to Saturn before the engine went. I heard the timing belt idler pulley about to go out. Told them to replace everything behind the timing belt cover. Waste of time. After dropping $700.00 I drove it a few miles only to have the tensioner pulley to go out. They did not replace it. I took it back to Saturn and they told me that they were not at fault. I was told "How are we to know when a pulley is going to go out" Yea true story. You replace EVERYTHING in the timing belt train!! :banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3:

Now I have my 72 Chevelle wagon. I was never going to get another wagon because I have, as you have read, always have had nothing but bad luck with them. But I could not stay away. I just hope that this one lasts.

Humm S series? If so they weren't very clear with you. They have a chain thats adjusted by a hydralic piston pressing against a plastic guide. No pulleys in there. Usually they only start getting noisy at 175,000. Man if you did have an S series with a failing serp belt tensioner and they did the chain at your word instead of diagnosing the noise first.. damn thats insane and a horrible service dept!!!
