You must have beat my post by a 10th of a second...

I feel the same way. I can't remember the origonal cost of a personalized plate where I live, but it wasn't really that bad....untill they told me I would have to pay extra every year just to keep it!....

...I did say, "OK" and changed what I wanted, but for some strange reason the Insurance Corperation of British Colunbia did not aprove and regected what i wanted...

    .... ICBC-SKS

I told this true story before, but for the Newbies, here it is again.

Vancouver, BC is a metro area, with pockets of affluent areas. The really rich live on a street named "The Crescent" or in Shaughnessy, or West Vancouver (up in the Mountains).

I owned an engineering brokerage in Vancouver, back in the mid-80s. One day, I met a fellow Eng. at a conference, and we got yakking about how the provincial Insurance Company hoses the public, and he told me how he got one leg up on them. He lives up in West Vancouver, driving his new Testarosa back and forth to downtown Vancouver (about a 15 minute bus-ride (Right...).

He ordered the car and was told it could take 2 months to come in, as ordered. So they gave him the papers to get the registration started. He wanted the Engineering Formula "4Q2".:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

He went all over metro Vancouver looking for a Newly hired Asian person who still hadn't mastered English pronunciation or heard the 7 words you couldn't say on radio or TV. The car arrived! He got all the papers, and found a new agent in New Westminster, where all the car-transport ships dock. Got the plate delivered to the dealer by courier, without any objections from ICBC's moral squad, and then a Vancouver Sun reporter caught the car in pictures! They couldn't take it away! He'd had it for 6 months before that, and even the Mayor thought it was cute. Untouchable!

Like Tedy says, the re-registration is pricey up here in our indebted, over-taxed and over-spent part of the world, or else I'd get ZORROV (Fox parts from 5 Fox-bodied Fords. Fairmont, Zephyr, Mustang, Capri and a baby LTD.

Well, it's not exactly wagon related, but my wagon has the plate BUGGELS. That happens to be the nickname of my baby twin girls. Not surprisingly, all of my male friends look at me like I'm a freak for having BUGGELS on my slant 6 beauty.

-:rofl:Sorry.Florida does NOT have car inspections. But according to State rules I can only drive my cars with COLLECTOR TAGS TO CAR SHOWS, PARADES, similar events, or to have it worked on. Since I have friends who work on cars I can stop by while out riding or shopping to have them inspect it. Therefore I am doing nothing illegal. I wouldn't want to break one of Floridas nice laws!:rofl2: It may have been someone else who wrote this just in case this is viewed by high ranking government officials.
