Is there are anyone from LA here? I really like this one: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/2417263862.html Good year, looks nice and clean at first sight. Seller send me a pic of the engine: Located in Hemet, LA area. Close to a port; saves a lot of transportation costs.
What is strange about that ad. There is a picture of a '88 or '89 with the more rounded front. Then there is a picture of the '87 with tinted windows. Or is it my eyes playing tricks on me at 1am?
The top two pics are definitely not the same car. I've seen that top left pic around before, not the car for sale.
Good news is I am always welcome to come and do inspection. Problem is seller only accepts cash and I live in the Netherlands, 14 hours flight. A few years ago that was not a problem, I have been in the US before just for buying a car but then I had no baby... Any ideas?
It is the car in the second picture. As long as any inspection is allowed I do not think different pics is not a problem, we can see for ourselves. Why is LA so far away?? I can have the car inspected but then I have to pay in cash and sending cash by mail is a huge risk...
Darn, that makes things harder. I think your best bet would be to show up in person, which I know is NO easy task with how far the travel would be for you.
Yeah. Without a baby it would be okay, it's always nice to be in the US and I travelled on my own before to buy a car (1949 Buick Sedanette in Indiana, 2006). But I have our babyboy Duke, he is only 10 months old...
thats the same car, its just at an odd angle in the 2nd pic. 79-86 looked like the 87-91 car from certain angles. but from dead on they are different. the turn signals are pointy on a 79-86 it looks more lincoln-town car-like.
I don't like the ad or the pix but it's not my call. Ina...congrats on little Duke! As for the car...I would HOPE that you would not send ANY money in ANY form without someone looking at the car and doing a hands on. Preferably by a good car guy from this forum.
Well, I'm from L.A. - I just don't live around there anymore. Got a good friend who lives in Hemet. Unfortunately, he's not a 'car' guy......
Most important is that there is someone we can trust. We have friends in Phoenix (neighbours at a RV camp when we were in Arizona, 2008 vacation, we are still having contact) but LA is too far away for them.
