I am finally spending some time on the exterior of my 64 Cpuntry Sedan. Today I started polishing the paint. That's going to be a lot of polishing...
Lots of Paint Yea but just think of how much good exercise you are getting. And it keeps you off the streets and out of trouble.
Tell me about it! I am looking for a GOOD professional detailer that knows what he's doing to do my 96 Cappy. It's too big for me to do anymore. Want to hand wash it, clay it, polish it, seal it. No way I can go over this behemoth 4 or 5 times myself.
Well...if you knew the condition of this old body you would know why I can no longer do it. As far as health is concerned....I've got more problems than a trig book. Just a few years ago I was rebuilding a huge old farm house all by myself. I fought through things then but it's no longer possible. I had a serious wake up call when I bought my Cappy and started to do the work on it changing & building the engines, etc. I had to turn over all the heavy stuff to my car builder friend that owns a shop and pay him to do a lot of it. Funny....I always thought I was invincible and refused to acknowledge my age. But, when your body starts to go and things don't work anymore you are pretty much screwed. My mind says do it while my body laughs at the thought. I lived fast and hard and joked about showing my body who's boss. Well.....It's pay back time.
Out of Warrantee Silverfox, why do you suppose I'm sitting in here in AC while there are a million things to do in the garage and in the yard. Maybe only 1/2 million. But seems like it! The sad part is what you wrote, we thought we'd never wear out. Well. my odometer is broken and I'm just tryin to keep from being sent to the scrap heap myself. We still do some things. Just do them slower, takes longer, and not as often. I had a young son here till lately I could beg and bribe to do my heavy work. He discovered "girl." So for now, everything is on hold. My odometer is still clicking and I don't have that much longer to keep on a holding pattern. Still have things to finish and cars to drive. Those young guys and gals need to git-er-done while they still can. I put off too much too long. Tomorrow arrived yesterday!
Yeah...gettin' old ain't for sissies. And I really hate it. I never knew there were this many diseases???
Sissy ! <-------Lookie, I changed my Avatar. I checked. We only have two choices in life. I'll stick with the one I have for now!
I do not know what qualifies as old but I only finished the roof before finding some office work. The other day I consciously started putting things (tools, etc) I was using at at least waist high so I wouldn't have to use my aching knees as often. - am also thankful that my dad taught me to put on my socks before my pants and shoes before buttoning pants. I am not sure which is worse; old or fat. I feel I have crossed the threshold of both at the same time! It may be a good idea for me to hire some small kids to reinstall my interior. As big as the wagon is I still find myself in a pinch when up in the cargo area sanding. Happy father's day to you guys. I lost mine in 1989.
1964Country You are only as old as you feel. That's what I've been told. Sadly I feel old! My brain tells me to climb under the dash and install new wiper system, dash, AC, etc. My back, legs, and a hundred other parts tell me NO! My brain is outnumbered and loosing ground by the day. In fact, not only are body parts beginning to slow me down more, the brain is loosing too many cells too fast! The few that are left are fighting!
or parts that can hurt !!!! keep it up 64...its worth it and Cat...your only as old as the gurls you feel..
