Hey it's a new episode of 'Guess 442's Wagon'.......

    Here's my guess:
    '90 Olds Custom Cruiser.

There's also a possibility it could be a '92-'96 B-body, but probably not an Olds, since the Olds didn't come with wood.

And even though they referred to it as a 'boat', there's still a possibility that this is a 'boat' to them.....(This is Griswold's Cappy above BTW...)

So here's what I know for sure... It is a '91 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. It has the glass roof with the roof rack. It is white. I couldn't find any that came with woodtrim, so I'm thinking it might be 2-tone instead... I have no idea on the interior color. I'm hoping for tan though... My vision would be to create a 442/Hurst Olds tribute wagon, but we'll see what I end up with first. I expect it's a column shift - I don't think they made any of these with a console - true???

I had a wonderful discussion about wagons with the family last fall, and my enthusiam for wagons must have been apparent. I had no idea that I'd end up with this car - I was just sharing my passion...

I should have the car in a week or so - just waiting for the estate paperwork to be processed. Stay tuned...:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Or a pace car replica but definably your added touch is required.

I used to see a 91 or 92 Custom Cruiser wagon with woodgrain in Princeton, NJ for many years. Maybe the dealer added the woodgrain from a Caprice?

I'm having all kinds of fantasies about what this thing could look like!!! I know from years of playing with cars that "wheels make the car". I'm thinking about different looks - 442 clone, Hurst/Olds, Vista Cruiser, etc. Whichever I decide, the first step will be wheels...

I found this pic while surfing for photos:

Impala SS wheels do look great on this. I'm looking for suggestions of other "factory" style wheels I could use to give it one of the looks mentioned about... Do they make 17" Oldsmobile style rallye rims in a 5-5 bolt pattern? I guess they could be 15 or 16's, but I like the look of 17's - not too big, but enough to evoke a performance look for this era...

    Thoughts/ideas???

    Well....if it's a woody....it may be a Cutlas Ciera wagon.
Although, I don't see how anyone could call one of those "The Boat".
This one is a different model year, I think, but, basically, they were all the same.

No, it's DEFINITELY a '91 Custom Cruiser - that part I'm pretty sure of... She said it had the glass roof with the rack behind it - they only did that on the Custom Cruiser in the Olds models...

Yup - the waiting is definitely torture!!!
