Hello everyone my name is G@tti, I live in Virginia and I own 3 Volvo wagons. I stumbled across this site by mistake. My youngest child found this site thru Google, he was doing a search about a particular wagon he once saw on the road and wasn't sure what it was. He still hasn't found it but he did leave this page open and I just sat down and peep inside. Glad I did, nice site and I think you will see more of me here. Anyways let me properly introduce my babies. The first wagon is a 1988 Volvo 745t as you can see she's almost in her final stage for completion. All she needs is fresh white paint and she's done... well maybe a few other pieces but she does look finish, right? Took at least 3 years to complete her but most of you that have kids will know projects have a tendency to be on hold. My second wagon is a Volvo 1996 855R , most of the work is complete, bought her stock and added a few go fast parts to her. She is my primary driver and gets the groceries, picks the kids up from school, light haul materials for remodeling my house, etc etc. My last and I don't mean my last purchase, I figure to add one or two more to my fleet. lol Anyways my recently purchase 1988 Volvo GLE Wagon, this wagon is what you call a Sleeper, once owned by Paul Newman himself, powered by a 87 Buick Grand National 3.8 V6 Turbo motor, 5 speed and lots of other parts too much to list. Here are a few shots of my babies ...... Thanks everyone!
OMG. Black Grand National powered Volvo wagon. That is hot. I love the look of the red one too. What kind of numbers/ times does the GN powered Volvo make?
Welcome Scout....i, having a secret lust for Volvo wagons are happy to meet ya the Black one must be a hoot to drive!! i stuffed a Ford 302 into a 78 a buncha years ago....it was fun
Welcome to the forum, Scout. I love Volvo wagons and have a stock 5 speed 1997 850 silver wagon. I love the front lip, mags and the grill. Have you done any other cosmetic modifications to the 850? The GLE musat be a blast to drive, have you taken it to the track? Here is a video of a Volvo wagon with a corvette engine.
I <3 Volvo! I was very close to buying a 1981 Volvo for a project, but I was too messed up at that time to afford one (health things, being in the hospital...) Black Volvo ftw!
Still tinkering under the hood. Hopefully this spring I will bring it to the track and find out what she can do. As far as the dyno that's still on hold until I iron out a few things. I'm hoping for low 12's maybe.
I never liked wagons but having kids I was kinda forced to drive em. I hate SUV's, not sporty enough for me and I needed something that can haul kids and groceries ...... besides Volvo's are one of the safest vehicles and my wife actually talked me into getting em. To this day she doesn't know the black wagon has a Buick V6, always tells me it sounds rough and needs a tune up. lol Little does she know.
Thank you! The red wagon is actually my daily driver and it just seems like I've been putting tons of money on her. The 850's seems to be more expensive as far as performance parts. The black wagon is my track car and weekender. I'm still in the modification mode with her and hopefully around spring she will see the track. The video is young gentleman I know from PA .... he's my evil twin. lol Comestic wise I've upgraded to Porsche Big Brakes in the front, will be installing another set for the rears, installed a custom VMS all stainless steel exhaust, downpipe, race cat, full 3 inch, Aero-Turbine muffs and resonators. Changed the rear tails to a updated V70's, installed BBS RGR's rare 18's, Atech intercooler, Custom Speed tunning chip, 19t turbo .... and just way too much to list right now. lol
