"I said the Schmidt House!" :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: Good one Nick!(y)

Christmas... With all the work and sawdust going on, we didn't put up any evidence that 'Tis the Season'. We got a couple cards and propped them up on any bare surface we could find, though. Our gift to ourselves is the progress we're making with them. To our local friends, a big chunk of our annual 40 proof homemade fruitcake and our friendship.

To our distant friends, our best wishes for a happy, healthy and safe season, in this choatic world.

To God, our commitment to serve better, and bring a bit more Heaven and Peace and tough love on our own living. I figure if Job could do it and live well for 147 years, I sure as heck can give it a go. :D

    Honey?!, pass the Eggnog!:rofl2:

Have a fine season, one and all. God Bless us all!

I am a little late, but first best wishes to all of you! Reading the whole thread made me realize how much good there still is in this world (and it seems that they are all on this forum, but that may be coincidence...). Looking back on the past year, I have to say that I have never been as disappointed in the world in general as this year, even up to the point that I thought: "why still trying?" Just to illustrate, here a little example of a small side article I read in the newspaper the other day. It stated that the UN has asked for a record amount of money to the international community for first aid help around the world. This was 6 billion euro's for 55 million people in need. In first instance I thought, yes a lot, but reconsidering I thought, wait a minute, 55 million is only 1% of the world population. And 6 billion euro's, we (The Netheralnds) just pumped almost 30 billion in one of our banks to stabilize it, to save our savings. So as a world, 99% of the population is almost not able to help 1% with a sh!tty amount of money????

Anyway, on a more personal level, it is now almost 2 years ago my father was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. This can not be cured and he was given 1 year tops. Well, he is still very well and although has some sadbacks every now and then as a result of the chemo's, I think he is still enjoying live. He is almost 73 now and considering he had two major heartsurgeries (triple bybasses, firts when he was 47), prostate cancer and now this, he is doing well. His youngest sister past away this year though because of cancer, but I can't complain all things considered. On my wifes side things are stioll ok, her mother has had cancer as well, but still seems "clean".

It is a shame though my wife always wants to go to Italy with the holidays. I like Italy, don't get me wrong, but there seems to be a tradition in her family not to pay any attention to festivities, so there is not a real christmas spirit. I know my parents would love to see there grandson and us, but what can I say. SWMBO do know how to get her way....

I like to end with speaking out my hope that the rest of the world would finally take the christmas spirit at heart (is this the right expression?), it is such crazy times now!

Not in Italy though, but this are some pictures from the beginning of the week in Holland.

    Merry Christmas, one and all...

I've always wanted to do one of those hokey 'Christmas' poems that's a take off of 'Night Before Christmas' and tells everyone of all the stuff that went on in your life the past year.....

Well - won't be doing that this year, either.

Anyway, 2010 has been somewhat of a struggle - burning up savings trying to stay above water; various 'fixes' on the house in the country that we wanted to buy (but didn't, thank you God..); trying to keep my business going; etc; And oh yeah, rolling the Focus wagon in the snow and totalling it out on Oct 27th.

Good things happened, too. Friends and relatives visiting from SoCal, the job situation getting more stable, and.......

We're buying a house! Found a nice place on the west side of Eugene Enough room for the 3 of us. Sort of a small 2-car garage, with not much storage, but I'll deal with it. House is only 4 years old. Won't be out in the country any more, but that 10 mile drive just to get into town was getting old, anyway.

Best Wishes to all my SWF friends any your families, from the Loveday clan.

    Marshall

I was just reading this thread again, and the first eight, or so, posts are really great. Ian, Snoot, Saf, Cliff, Norm, Tom, Tedy, Marshall, Mike and so on. All wonderful posts. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Such great guys!

Friends have asked me why I spend so much time looking at this forum...like just how much is there to talk about regarding wagons?
It's the friendships with y'all that keeps me connected to this forum...the real reason I return here day after day.

If I couldn't PM Foxy every few days or so, keep up with Rob in the Netherlands, or with Jeffrey in Florida, life would be less happy for me.

I've been kind of humbug about Christmas this year...I've had to work and be out of town...right now I'm writing this in Calgary...but, I have to admit, I get pretty mushy, when I read your very personal posts about Christmas spirit, and realize how much each of you guys mean to me...and there are new members of this crazy family show up all the time! Great people. Heck, I even like the elusive and irascible Nick! ;)

2010 has been a tough year for so many. I know there is alot of hardship out there...

I miss Blackfoot/Scott, and I sure hope he is doing well wherever he is. Hope he comes back here and says hi. He is in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope he is in some of yours as well. :yup:

Hope all of you have had a safe and happy Christmas! This year's almost a wrap!

    David :)

Yeah Wix, it is a good bunch all around here:2_thumbs_up_-_anima, and I hope ALL had a great Christmas.

Friends gone and moved on is allways a bummer, wishing them the best:thumbs2:. It's been like that on the forum here and in real life.

I'm pritty content with this Christmas after a crappy year/summer for me, new friends over for the feast, My Daughters guy friend....who is only a "friend"....but they are glued to each other and a nice guy with a job! I'm still on the up side of dirt (better than being under:rednose:) , but the best mirracle this year is IMO,
