Big time! They showed one Northern Ontario town last nite, near Sarnia, where they brought in choppers to get people out of their cars, stuck in one of the worst snow squalls ever. 200 people.

Weird winter so far, and supposed to be colder and more snow than usual to the end of January. We're getting some tonite and tomorrow, but warmer than normal temps.

Northern US states got a mean snow dump too, and frozen oranges and strawberry crops in Florida.

LOL....I was kind of thinking the same thing about here.:D

I'm sure we don't get quite as much as the Peg but we are just south of Ontario and already got about as much as they are showing in the article.

Really though they can't measure snowfall in the Peg. It always snows sideways.

Here's my theory on global weather. The earth warms then it cools. The warm periods are measured in hundreds of years and the cool periods measure in thousands of years. The last mini-ice age was about 250 years ago. The earth will be going in to a cooling trend soon as a result of the warming trend. Warmth brings more stormy weather. I figure the prediction in 1970 that we'd be in an ice age by 2000 was only off by about 20 years. I think Norm will be moving to Mexico soon.

See the weather in this article? I posted the following in the Let me tell you about c-c-c-cold thread.....the guy I'm talking about would be out shoveling and walking around in THIS kind of weather! Never seen anything like it..............................

That just reminded me. There is a guy in this town that NEVER wears a coat all winter. Not only that...he just wears short sleeved T-shirts!:yikes:
I kid you not. And...he will stand outside and talk to you as long as you want in below zero weather! I have yet to see a goose bump on his arms. Just saw him the other day again. He was walking into a store with his T-shirt on and it was around zero degrees. He does NOT own a coat! I can't even comprehend that????

You can count on that. Maybe 3 or 4 more years here. Central Mexico. Northern Mexico hit -10C a couple nights ago (Saltillo, MX) up in the North East. Southern Mexico is in major floods. and the coastal areas have had nasty, windy weather, more than usual.

I don't mind the cold and snow, as much as I mind the fact that you can't be outside for 5 months of the year and enjoy it. Central Mexico is nice. Dips down to 45F at night during December to mid January, and still warms up to 75F during the day. From Spring to late-November, the days are at 80 to 90, and nights are 65F to 70F. No big winds, some awesome lightning and rain storms, and not overpopulated. Don't care for salt water swimming anyway, after swimming in the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana, Daytona Beach in Florida, and a beach in Freeport Bahamas. Just enough industry to keep it humming nicely, and still an agricultural beehive. Lots of artisans, not overwhelmed with drug lords, and the cops are usually honest. Politicians are only mildly corrupt.

I don't have much snow to dig, but its still a PITA, especially when the temperature is running below 10F. I'm usually done in an hour, by hand. Yep, I'd rather swim.(y):D

My concern would be the swiss cheese effect on the ice with all those holes.
