Found an '84 LTD wagon Fox car, nice shape, six/auto sitting in a guys yard for sale. I knocked on the door, and the woman said her husband was selling it for an old couple. Another guy looked at it and said he'd be back Friday to buy it. She told me what he'd take for it. I think I'll have the cash tomorrow from selling some parts. Should I try to get him to sell it to me? It's kind of sneaky.
It's a Fairmont with a graceful grill and comfy seats. Was the 302 available in those? Drg, The 'other guy' may just be the proverbial, 'other guy' to get you or another 'other guy' to act fast and make an offer. If they accept your offer, I'd buy it, nothing unethical about it if the seller is willing to deal with you.
The 1982 and later wagons have a totally different tailgate latch than pre-1982. Much more reliable, and often have the glass hatch option, so you leave the window open and haul long lumber and stuff out the back. Too hard to modify the earlier wagons for that.
Nope. I'm guessing the seller called the guy that wanted it that day. I went by the next morning and the wagon was gone. He probably used me as leverage!!
