we bought her as a pretty stock wagon to take our 4 Samoyeds to the beach and to car shows in.. NZ assembled, 308 engine, TH350 trans, Salisbury rear end.. nothing major needed as the 308 was rebuilt about 8000Km before we purchased her so all I have done is go to electronic ignition, fitted a better cam and extra carb, small diameter 2800rpm stall convertor and refresh the suspension for my preferred stance and ride height. I am just getting everything together then we will respray her.. built to cruise in, more than show off in.. have had several wagons from the two main Aussie makers.. she was named Mary by the original owners, who are we to change her name.. a few plans in the pipeline but nothing too radical..
have been working on a long range tank, and a hybrid bonnet from an Aussie XC Ford Fairmont GXL and a spare HQ bonnet I have had laying about, both were pretty second hand but they will come up ok. I have fitted 10x15 centerline style rims all round and am loving the look. just in the middle of replacing inlet manifold gaskets to give me a little more time before I have to undertake a rebuild on the 308.. it never ends does it..
