1954 Plymouth Plaza Suburban

I bought this rolling shell in 2022 with plans to make it a driver for my wife. It has no engine or transmission and most of the interior is missing. I am building a 318 engine and 904 automatic transmission for it now. I want to either upgrade the suspension to something modern or do a complete frame swap. I have a 1994 Ford Ranger doner that has the same wheelbase length and similar wheel track widths. This is my first project on a car this old. Please let me know any lessons you have learned that will save me some time and heartache!
